I know we can't overlook anyone, but I believe the consensus is that Gville will win. However, we have started slow the last 3 games. I would like to see us play a full 4 quarters. I don't know that we have done that yet.

We're supposed to get info on how the school will do tickets. I've not heard anything yet, though.

We were 3-7 and made it to the quarters last year. You can always find the exceptions.

We went years without ever playing each other, and now we've played several times in the past few years. I look for Gordonsville to win going away. Who are the Whitwell players to watch?

Pirates would still be the higher seed. They would host in that case. That's how Gordonsville hosted a home playoff game as a 3 seed last year.

I was in a cemetery about 10 miles north of Monterey yesterday. I was surprised at how saturated the ground was.

FWIW, we are down a couple of starters. That's an excuse in case we need one.

We definitely haven't played our best game, but I will take a win however we can get it, if we can get it.

I know we have at least 40 yards in penalties, and we've looked sloppy. The field is in awful shape.

You can stand, but it has to be on the home side. There is nothing on the opposing sidelines.

That was our first real game in a month. We did come out sloppy and off, but I think the 2nd half was more like us. We moved the ball and shut their offense down. I think they only had 2 first downs the 2nd half.

Everything I've seen on Facebook shows that this was a decision made by Dekalb County schools. As you can imagine, there are some parents that are pretty upset. They also say that there isn't a need to quarantine the whole team. It's a very unfortunate situation.

For what it's worth, I'm on the back end of having the virus. I never had a fever and never lost my sense of taste or smell. The only symptoms I can be 100% that I had was a little congestion and a few weak spells. 3 out of 5 of my kids at home tested positive, and you would never know they have it. Like others, I believe the contact tracing is extreme, and if I'm not mistaken, all of it is based on guidelines. The individual school systems decide what protocol to follow, I believe. However, if one doesn't follow the CDC guidelines, that sets them up for future trouble. I'm all for the age old practice of quarantining the sick (symptomatice), not the ones who may or may not be sick.

Looks like tickets will be limited. Gordonsville is only getting 150 tickets, so you other guys may need to look for another game to see.

I still don't understand why every website and service has Gordonsville with 3 losses. Coalfield chose not to play that game. We were going to play. Oh well...

For what it's worth, this has become a game that Gordonsville folks really want to win. I know...it's a region game, we should want to win, and we do. However, in the last couple of years, certain "media" has really talked them up, and in the process, downed Gordonsville. That same "media" is really talking them up again this year. It was a shame Whitwell beat them last year, because we really wanted to play them a second time, but it's not often a 3rd seed gets a home playoff game, so we took it. It's a shame also that this won't be a region game after this year. It's become a good rivalry. That's evidenced by some of the comments from their broadcast Saturday. I pick the Gmen by 2 scores, however, I hope it's more.

Not really taking up for him...I just know that it was Dickerson that dropped Watertown. Now, refusing to schedule them now...that's on him.

In Murray's defense, it was the previous HC who decided against playing Watertown.

Gordonsville is doing things in the running game that it wasn't able to do earlier. We didn't do well offensively when we previously played Clay, but we're better now; however, we dominated defensively, keeping them under 100 total yards with negative rushing. I think our schedule gives us an advantage, and we've been somewhat rested. It seems Monterey may be a little banged up. We'll see how that affects Friday.

I'm surprised that Monterey won. I thought Clay had an off night.

I heard that Clay's QB would be out tonight, but he's playing. I'm not sure the extent of the supposed injury.
