  1. One good thing about the referee shortage, though, is that I still get to run the chains the first couple rounds of the playoffs. Best seat in the house.
  2. There's a lot of interesting changes in these rankings this week. McKenzie is still way ahead of the rest. Gville dropped around 50 spots and around 10 points after playing RBS. Coalfield is ahead of Gville despite losing to them. SP dropped a lot after losing to Oakland. Only 7 points separates 2 through 9. I think as a whole the 1A teams are ranked higher than normal. 20 McKENZIE 9 0 0 92.87 131.62 78 CLAY COUNTY 9 0 0 84.71 118.04 83 COALFIELD 7 2 0 91.16 117.00 86 FAYETTEVILLE 8 1 0 97.81 116.98 93 GORDONSVILLE 8 1 0 99.94 115.54 105 PEABODY 7 1 0 96.72 113.72 119 DRESDEN 6 3 0 97.75 111.88 123 CORNERSVILLE 7 2 0 96.74 111.23 125 SOUTH PITTSBURG 6 2 0 84.38 111.07 169 CLOUDLAND 8 1 0 77.58 102.07
  3. From where I sit, McKenzie is right. The rest...
  4. He isn't the radio guy, but he did have an interview earlier in the year. As far as scheduling Oakland, I've seen where a lot of people weren't happy with Jones doing that. I don't believe it's "having balls" but "lacking brains" with that decision.
  5. Hopefully he can figure out how to get a few more snaps in. I feel that he would have had a heck of a year if healthy.
  6. Gville gets the win. I think Gville is a couple of touchdowns better, however, Clay is extra motivated, so that may narrow the margin.
  7. This has the potential to be a pretty good game.
  8. That class has never been big. We actually have 6 seniors on the team. Only 4 were going to start at the beginning of the season. Now, one is injured, and only 3 had started before. To show they've always been small, in jr. pro they never had more than 5 or 6 inthat class play. Plus, there are 3 players at TC that have been in that class at Gville at some point.
  9. Sure, they made mistakes, but what I'm saying is TC got up for Friday's games more than others, and the effort was obvious on film. Watching film, there were players who might would take a play off, they didn't against Gville. As far as comparing 2021 to 2012, I never said we are better than 2012. I said we are not. I did say 2012 underwhelmed, meaning they played a few games that were closer than they should've been. Got beat by SC, and I don't think the playoff games should've been as close as they were. As far as being biased, I try to be as objective as possible. Yes, my son is on the team, but he's been injured and hasn't played since the first game. We talk about it, and I'm honest, we have a really long way to go to where we need to be. It doesn't mean we won't get there. We are team that is only has 3 seniors getting significant playing time right now, and it shows.
  10. Clay hasn't been completely healthy. They've been missing their QB/LB and their best lineman. The lineman has only been out the last couple of weeks. I don't think the QB has played since week 1 or 2. They've been starting a freshman there.
  11. I've talked to several people that's watched film and thought TC played their best game yet, especially when it came to effort. I absolutely think TC can be the 2nd best team in the state, and we may not be at the level of the 2012 team, but that team in my opinion underwhelmed at times, and I think both classes as a whole are down from that year.
  12. Peabody and Fayetteville has had some strange scores. I believe they're beatable. I get a feeling it may be like SP last year. I thought that there was no way City would beat them, but they proved everyone wrong.
  13. If you're comparing scores, look how Clay beat Scott Co compared to how Coalfield beat Scott and how Gordonsville beat Coalfield. You know as well as I do, you can't solely go off of comparing scores, but it can give you an idea. As far as Cornersville, the game with City was a head scratcher. It makes me wonder if City has regressed.
  14. I saw that picture on Facebook. That doesn't concern me that much as I'm sure Gville got away with some holds as well. However, I think most will agree that you have to call that when it's that close to the play. The biggest call I had an issue with was the roughing the passer. I feel that wouldn't have been called 99% of the time. Either way though, you have to play so that a few calls don't cause you to lose. In talking to some folks, it seems that TC was up for this game more than they had been all year and their coaching staff did some things that hadn't been seen on film. Kudos to them and their players.
  15. It's best that I keep my opinions to myself. Otherwise, I get in trouble.
  16. Taking advantage of mistakes goes both ways, such as the roughing the passer and the fumble already mentioned, along with some other things. Both teams were a little banged up. We're missing two 3 year starters on the line as well. When it's all said and done, Claiborne was the difference tonight. Burnley is just as effective as Calhoun except for passing, and let's face it, how much does that really matter at TC. All in all, I like the way most of our boys responded, and I would've made some different decisions, but I'm not the one making those decisions.
  17. Even with the 2 starters out, Clay shouldn't have a problem. Adams has looked good. He really is outperforming the fact that he is a freshman. Clay will not leave anyone awestruck with their athleticism; however, every player on that field leaves it all out there and they're well coached. Pound for pound, Kerr #44 will be the best player on the field. If he weighed 180 or more, he would be dangerous to opposing players' health.
  18. If this thread is any indication, that one is going to be GOLD! Since it's for gold, TC will win. For those who are harping on the TC - Upperman NO CONTEST, get a grip. Ya'll do realize that Coacht and other websites don't get their records and results from Blake Satterfield. TC has no say in how the records are reported, regardless, they haven't lost on the field, yet. About Friday's game, it will be a tough one. Both teams can be explosive, yet they've shown some inconsistencies. Defensively, both teams are solid. I don't expect a high scoring game at all.
  19. They're all good wins. You TC and H2O guys need to keep talking and forget about Gville. As far as injuries, we've been missing a couple of Oline starters since the first game, and personally, I think they're the two best linemen, so they've been missed.
  20. This game doesn't mean much regarding playoffs, but it's still a big game. Trousdale is the best team we'll see, in the regular season for sure. I look for it to be a good one.
  21. Got it right. 28-6 at half, and we scored two quick touchdowns. The clock was running by halfway in the third. I was worried on the beginning as we came out flat and allowed JB to score on the first drive, but then we scored and didn't really look back. On to TC.
