They let Danny Carson go too. Now he is at Ooltewah with Coach Monroe. They also turned down Gary Rankin who applied for the job. No Coach Monroe and No Coach Rankin from Riverdale...for ummm Danny Wilson. Go Figure...playing in Benny Monroe Stadium lol strange..they said they were going in another direction...wonder if that is the same direction they headed in last yr?? strange I am so happy for Coach Monroe. He is in a much better place now. Just the lack of respect for a great coach that built that program...just don't understand... this Blue Raider will be following the Owls this year.

I am a graduate of Cleveland High school and was there when Coach Monroe won all those state championships and I will tell you this. Coach Monroe is from the OLD school of coaching. He is as they say an OLE BALL COACH. You will never ever hear him say he has a good team. That is how he is. The only time I have ever heard him say anything is the season the Cobb twins were seniors and they won the state for the second time. his exact words were... We'll be alright. I used to tell people he is like Lou Holts always crying about how good everyone else is and how down they are. Know this, he will get the best out of the team he has and I think that means a good year for the Owls Owls have talent, low on experience

lol Yeah it is like Tyner calls up Ooltewah and says "you want to play this year?? and of course Ooltewah says NO WAY!! and please tell McCallie not to call us either. We will just stick to our weak schedule of playing Cookville, William Blount, Rhea,Farragut and Oak Ridge and weak teams like DB in the playoffs... we could never compete with Tyner or McCallie. This sounds real? The fact is games are not scheduled like that. Coaches don't sit around and say...we haven't played them in a while. The fact is they have committed to play certain teams for so many years. When that time is up they have to fill that slot. I doubt they look for the very best team they can find to fill that slot. Most of the time they look for another team with the same open slot and see if they can come to terms with them....home field...for how many years ect. This is not backyard king of the hill.

Dante Hickey? I doubt that. If they are lots better they could still lose several in BENNY MONROE STADIUM while Benny is winning at the Ooltwah field. I was a Cleveland graduate during the Dante era. I just think it is strange that Cleveland didn't hire Benny back but has their field named after him. They get what they asked for . I see the Owls are getting what they asked for a GREAT coach and now they have their former great coach back as well. Hold on for a great ride. I think youll seel one this yr lolthe Owls are for real.

Watch the Cleveland teams in the nineties. You don't think those teams would have won in 5A???My God they killed people..scored 50+ points in some games . They dominated Maryville in the nineties. Coach Monroe brought the Wing t in from playing Delaware when he coached at MTSU. He and Coach A are good friends. I think they talk or used to lol

Is this a KNOXVILLE area list??Meadows is not the master of the WING T. Benny Monroe perfected this offense in the early nineties at Cleveland. He coaches at Ooltewah now. He has to be in the top 3. I agree with Coach Quarles he is great. Tom Weathers who was at Red Bank for years and now at Soddy is great. Ron Addalot who I think is at Hillsboro?? He is great. Rankin is awesome. I don't think Danny Wilson can be included with this group lol If Cleveland is good this year it will be from pure tallent. Do some homework.

OOltewah scrimmaged last night...RB..they never scored against the owls I think the final was 28-0. Anything else you need to know? Their coach is Benny Monroe..heard of him Bear Fan? lol
