  1. Youre kidding right? I mean is this a serious post? You think 2 weeks in AUG preparing for Maryville makes you ready to play them. He better have a HUGE magic wand. And be careful what you wish for. /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  2. I wonder why this team never gets any respect in the PRESS. Matthew Polk may even have better stats than Bryan Marshall did his Sr year at Ooltewah. Against Oak Ridge and Soddy he had over or close to 500 yards rushing. The defensive stats are just freaky. Interceptions-passes broken up- rushing yards allowed- sacks-QB hurries. I would like someone( Thorough or Imaowl) post some end of the year stats on here. Owls focus and Don't let up in the playoffs! Congratulations to Coach Monroe, Coach Green, Coach Gatewood and the rest!
  3. I was unable to attend the game because I had to work. My brother went. I told him before the game I was a little worried because in the end it is OAK RIDGE. He called me from the game and said I would not have believed it. He said there were more people from Ooltewah there than Oak Ridge. He said the Wildcats looked like they were just NOT THERE. No emotion just going through the motions. He said it was almost sad. He said at one point one of the Wildcats actually got the ball and ran the wrong way. Everyone laughed. I know people get on here and spout alot of stuff. But I really didn't have any idea the state of things there until we played them . I am amazed it has gotten this bad. Sad for the kids and community. I read a quote from Coach Stevens in the OR paper. It said "they (OWLSS) do like we did with Spencer Gulmeir when we went to the state. They line up and run straight at you."That is not "what we do" it is all we had to do. GO OWLS
  4. 31-0 in the 3rd. Time for the mercy rule ALMOST
  5. The is no way on earth Bradley beats Mcminn. And if I were betting I'd take Wm Blount over the bears too.
  6. He is a very classy guy. I spoke to Coach Monroe on Sat. He said the same as you did. That he came to the locker room and apologized. Coach Monroe said he told him not to even worry about it at all and that he had been in similiar situations over the years and the emotions and stress just takes over. Coach Monroe thinks alot of Coach Courtney and no hard feelings at all between the coaches just mutual respect. All this back and forth crap is from the fans.
  7. Stuart, OakRidge beat us last year. NO ONE is overlooking them believe me. I don't believe that they are soooo down. They still have some great athletes and ALL the OWL fans know how the Owls can play at times. You just hope we are overlooking them. I hope everyone on your team is ok after that beating they took they will have to be. You should jump back on your ship and help them along. GOOD LUCK
  8. omg you are kidding right I mean seriously. Why would he be trying to put your qb out of the game. It was late in the third quarter right before they put the subs in. I know he is a good quarterback but NOT a threat all night. Give me break. DId you know Coach Courtney came in the Owls locker room and addressed the team after the game? ASK him. I will let you in on something. Youre getting ready to play a pretty good team next week and it won't be easy. Owls gotta go to Oak Ridge who is never an easy win. Let see how it all plays out. You guys may have your chance for redemption /popcorneater.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":popcorneater:" border="0" alt="popcorneater.gif" />
  9. It's ok FRIENZZ as long as I have being on coacht you have been crying and crying and crying. You used to whine and cry about Marshall when he played yall. You whine and cry about refs. Youre just a cry baby everyone knows that. Marshall graduated and you STILL are whining about him. Just except the fact your Farragut got it handed to them and let it go.You make excuses everytime. I KNEW youd be on her whining after that severe beating. I just wasn't sure what you could find in that massacre...but low and behold you have found something. Be glad when you can whine about going to the SLAUGHTER HOUSE cause it won't be fun for ya. I never said a word about that hit on Bryan. You should show the next play he takes it to the house for an Owl touchdown. Got that clip? /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  10. Therefore.. Ooltewah has to lose to both Oak Ridge and Soddy to be second in the region. Losing to one of them and Farragut winning out would put us as tied with one region loss each and we would be first because of the above. /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  11. This is straight out of the handbook...D. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third-place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. (After the region winner has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again starting at the top to work out the runner-up position. The procedure shall be repeated to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.)
  12. I respect your opinion. I guess all the whining just bothers me. Like you said. You beat the number ONE team in 5A..no let me rephrase that BEAT DOWN the number one team in 5A and this is a thread that people are jumping on. Yeah could have been roughin the passer or been a great hit. But the ADS emploded at the end of the game. Those front four OWLS are BEASTS. They only have one speed and are dangerous. Just seems kinda funny to me after all the trash talk all week and all the hype that they are crying about the refs. One thing someone needs to look at is the actual breakdown of the game. the STATS. I think everyone for the OWLS are so excited that there was that much domination. That play was not an isolated play. THOSE BIG FOUR stayed in the backfield ALL NIGHT. It really was amazing.I honestly hope your running back and QB are OK caus I have a feeling SODDY is believing they can bring down the MIGHTY ADS now.
  13. looked a little like the McMinn game. That is how they play- BRING IT EVERY PLAY. Don't think they were TRYING to lead with the head. Just trying to get to the QB.
  14. This was from the CHATTaNOOGA FREE PRESS There will be a new No. 1 team in Tennessee??™s Class 5A high school football, and the way they played Friday night, it might well be Ooltewah??™s Owls. They bombarded Farragut??™s visiting Admirals 31-3. Top-ranked Farragut entered the Region 2-5A game at Ooltewah sporting a 7-0 record and scored on its first drive. But the Admirals lost star running back De??™Andre Purty to an injury in the first quarter and quarterback Reese Browning was harassed and hurried all night by the ninth-ranked Owls??™ front seven. Farragut didn??™t come close to scoring again until the game??™s waning seconds. The win boosted Ooltewah into a tie atop the region standings with Soddy-Daisy, which beat Oak Ridge. Ooltewah plays at Oak Ridge next week, when Soddy-Daisy hosts Farragut. The two Hamilton County teams will then meet in the regular-season finale with the region title possibly hanging in the balance. ???Farragut is a good football team,??? Ooltewah coach Benny Monroe said, ???but I knew they would have trouble with our defensive line, and I felt like we would be able to move the ball on them.??? The Owls sacked Browning seven times and limited the Admirals to 187 yards of total offense. One of the sacks led to the ejection of Admirals coach Eddie Courtney, who was pleading for a roughing-the-passer call with six seconds left in the third quarter. The official heard enough and tossed a penalty flag toward the Farragut coach. Courtney tossed the flag back toward the official and got another unsportsmanlike penalty, after which he hurled his clipboard toward the sideline. He was then escorted away by field security. Led by Jaquez Smith??™s two sacks, the Owls limited Browning to 10 completions in 28 attempts (and 113 yards) and picked off two of his passes. ???We??™re the fantastic four,??? tackle Que Jackson said of Ooltewah??™s defensive line, which is completed by tackle Brandon Bruell, a converted fullback, and Kevin Adams. ???They came in averaging 38 or 39 points per game, and we held them to three. We practiced really hard this week. You do that, you get good results.??? The game was a battle of wills early with Farragut determined to pass from its no-huddle spread offense and Ooltewah wanting to play smash-mouth up front in trying to spring quick-footed running back Mathew Polk. ???For the first time in years, our offensive line was bigger than their defensive line, and I felt we would be able to run on them,??? Monroe said. The Owls handed the ball to Polk on seven of their first eight plays. He ended up with 163 yards and three touchdowns on 28 carries/ ???We were trying to get some field position so we could spread it out,??? Monroe explained. Once they did, it was Polk cutting back and darting off the hips of his line and squirting through the arms of would-be tacklers. ???The offensive line was really physical tonight, and I tried to play smart. I hit the holes,??? Polk said. Following Brad Galloway??™s 44-yard field goal for Farragut almost nine minutes into the game, Ooltewah scored 31 unanswered points ??” beginning with a Polk score, a 26-yard pass from Brady Reed to Zack Zarzour and John Long??™s 42-yard field goal. The Owls were close again late ??” a fourth-and-7 at the Admirals??™ 20-yard line ??” and Monroe declined a final scoring opportunity.
  15. Thanks for this accurate post Boi. I think Coach Courtney is a class act. Although Coach Sweetalnd said they "had seen them on film and Knew" I am not sure anyone KNEW this outcome. You guys got Soddy next week right? I may be wrong but I don't think Coach Courtney will be able to coach on the field at that game after getting ejected. I know someone will correct me if I am wrong but will he? What is the rule? No I don't think the outcome will be the same when and if we play again BUT MAYBE. The different in talent speed and sorry even the coaching (for this game) was obvious. Come on back down to the nest. And please don't call me SLICK..I prefer LOVEHSFOOTBALL cause ya gotta love it The refs had NOTHING to do with that win. /flower.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":flower:" border="0" alt="flower.gif" />
  16. hard to run the play action from your back. He will be SICK tomorrow and very sore. The only thing D-I-R-T-Y was his uniform. and helmet.
  17. He did just have a meltdown along with most of the team at the end of the game. He is a great guy and a great coach. It is hard to get whipped like that. Hard on Players/thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />
  18. He was tripping after Juaquez nailed his QB for about the hundreth time.
