  1. Gibbs had more people in the stands than Claibourne did last week in New Tazewell.
  2. Well, I was there and both teams made mistakes. Gibbs clogged the veer somewhat and Rutledge slowed up Gibb's passing game. But the kicking of a 45 yard field goal twice still is something special Cole. Just for your info, Monday, the Rutledge JV beat Gibbs JV by two touchdowns and Thursday, Gibbs Freshman beat Rutledge Freshman 16-0. Looks like it will still be a dogfight between the schools for the next few years.
  3. Carter wins. Do Gibbs a favor though. Beat them quick so the traffic will clear out of Maynardville. We've got to come back from New Tazewell (Claiborne).
  4. Gotta get this thread back up near the top. Suprise of last week was Gibbs over Rutledge 23-22 on a last minute field goal.
  5. Stone Memorial is scheduled for Region 2, I think.
  6. I'm with you. I'd rather talk about the positives, the kids and the game, than coach bashing. By the way, tonight should be a rather interesting game. Balanced attack vs. Air attack. But I think the defense will win this one for either team. Gotta pick the Eagles at home.
  7. Suprisingingly, I was at the game the last time Gibbs won and was in college at that time so I'm old enough. I'm also glad you don't see the streak ending anytime soon cause when it does, whether this year or not, it'll hurt that much more knowing you lost to your neighbors to the East. Until tomorrow night and play safe.
  8. Now guys, promise you won't cry in your protein shake when Halls gets beat.
  9. Actually will be an interesting game this year unlike the past few. Aaron Large has many targets to throw to and Gibbs will have to stop Hall's running game. Kicking games for both teams are good too.
  10. We're out here. Just saving our energy for tomorrow night. I'm sure there will be suprises for both teams tomorrow night.
  11. Let's get back on track with this thread. Both teams are young this week and playing experience is only 2 or 3 games each as a squad. The team that wins this game will do it with heart and some guts. My thoughts are Gibbs will win by 10.
  12. Gotta go with the Eagles on this one. Gibbs 21 Scott 13
  13. Any word on the player that got hurt last night?
  14. Interesting matchup for Week 0. I've seen Webb in a scrimmage with Gibbs, Kingston, and Coalfield and watched West against Gibbs Friday. Both teams are good and I believe that whomever works out the kinks/mistakes this week will win. I like what Webb does with their motion and backfield and I also like West's team speed especially on the corners. Good luck to both teams.
  15. It looked like Gibbs caught West a little off guard when they went to their double tight end set. The tight ends looked awfully open. West did do a good job though on offense by blocking down and getting around the corner for their touchdown.
  16. The KOC Kickoff Classic at Neyland Stadium will start at 6:00 pm. Grace Christian Rams vs. TSD Vikings Gibbs Eagles vs. West Rebels Karns Beavers vs. Carter Hornets Halls Red Devils vs. Webb Spartans Powell Panthers vs. Austin-East Roadrunners Catholic Fighting Irish vs. Central Bobcats Bearden Bulldogs vs. Fulton Falcons South-Doyle Cherokeees vs. Farragut Admirals King's Academy vs CAK Warriors Player competitions will be I believe after the Powell/A-E quarter.
