  1. Congrats to the Lady Patriots for picking up their second district win in a row last night at home over GP!
  2. Eastside: First of all, I am no longer a part of the UC coaching staff, having resigned this year for health reasons. Second, if you an issue with me or Coach Murphy, why post it on a public message board? Here is my email address: roarkr14@yahoo.com Please feel free to email me, upon which I will provide you with phone numbers to contact either me, Murphy or both. R. Roark
  3. Vittetoe had 31 last night vs. GP in a 69-66 overtime loss. He's still ballin'! LOL
  4. Congratulations to the Lady Patriots on their 49-34 district win over Carter tonight! This was Union Co.'s first district win in over five years---since a Nov. 30, 2004 win over Cumberland Gap.
  5. Athletic Director, John Edds began interviewing for the position this past week, and I believe that interviews are ongoing the first part of this week as well. I know that the committee has interviewed at least 4 or 5 applicants, possibly more already. Edds email is: eddsj@ucps.org School phone is (865) 992-5232
  6. Chase Buckner had one of the better games in his young career last night in a lopsided win over Claiborne Co., who had beaten the Patriots by 2 points a few weeks ago in Tazewell. Not sure how many points Buckner finished with (probably upper teens to twenties), but he was the highlight of the offense last night---including a breakaway dunk toward the end of the fourth quarter that brought the fans to their feet. Cox continues to play better each game as well. This team is definitely improving, as this past week's close game with Fulton and a pair of wins over Gibbs and Claiborne attest to. It's without a doubt one of the toughest districts to play in, but Union Co. has made some significant strides recently and looks poised to become a key factor!
  7. Thanks coach---I'm hoping that did it. I got a "Adding Game AND a Thank you" when I finished a few mins ago. The first and second times I tried last week, all I got was "Adding Game" but no "thank you" and the game never showed up. I'm thinking that maybe NOT putting "TBA" for the time was the difference. I made up a fictional time and put it in for the three tourneys this morning, then followed your directions also, and it worked. Just thought I'd share these details in case someone else ran into the same problem. Thanks again, rSquared
  8. coacht: I sent you a pm, or at least thought I did a few days ago. Maybe it didn't go through. But how do we enter tournaments---I tried but had no success.
  9. Anyone have exact dates and contact info for the NFS tournament toward the end of March?
  10. Sorry, but I hadn't seen your post until just now. The contact for the Tiny Day tourney in Greeneville is Tim Armstrong, 423-823-2584.
  11. Received the tournament info in the mail today. Thanks! R. Roark/L. Lay Union Co.
  12. because you can't help it, muffin, just like me! Once it's in you, it never leaves! LOL
  13. Tiny Day tourney is usually the weekend of the middle of April. I'm guessing that it will be April 16-17th this year.
  14. Just want to say that I have been both an asst. coach and a head coach in the Knoxville area for the past five years and if Whitney G. is not an all-state softball player, then there is not even any need for such an honor. I don't know her or her father or have any ties to the Cherokee program, but I have seen her pitch many games in the past four years. She is not just a pitcher, but an extremely talented all-around player. If I were a college coach, I would try to sign her!

  16. did the girl on the front page get the blue coacht.com tee shirt? Does this website still have a store that sells them, or how would a loyal coachT plus member go about buying one? I have a couple of the older white coacht tee shirts, but sure would like to have a blue one or two!!!
  17. the division is there for the taking. someone is going to go on a roll and peel off about a 9 or 10 game streak and put themselves in the proverbial drivers seat. but it may not happen until after the all-star break! Go Reds!!!
  18. His name is Shane Brown and he is from Indianapolis. As far as ties to TN goes, his wife or her family is from Scott Co. Also, he has coached college ball recently in IN, but also served as an assistant coach at LMU a few years ago.
  19. I'm not privvy to any details, but I have heard that some very good applicants from out of state have applied---from Ohio, Indiana, Kentucky, and another state that I can't remember---as well as several in-state applicants. Roger Murphy, head girls coach at UCHS, has removed his name from the applicant pool as I understand, so I believe that leaves only two "local" or county people applying---Vic King----former boys assistant under Brian Jessie as well as former girls assistant under Lori Cook---and Jonathon Smith, head girls coach at Horace Maynard Middle School. Interviews were held Monday and Tuesday, and will continue throughout this week.
  20. Well you're both kind of right. Union Co. was supposed to return four starters, but the word on the streets is that Sr. starting PG Tyler Smith may be heading to Anderson Co. If that proves to be the case, then UC would just return three starters.
  21. While at the school today, I heard the same people above and that the UCHS girls coach, Roger Murphy, and the middle school girls coach, Coach Smith (?) had expressed their interests in the position as well. Interviews are scheduled for next week.
  22. I'm assuming that was just a typo, but you must mean "he will do a great job" at SEYMOUR. He has already done a great job at Union Co.!
  23. As an assistant girls coach at UCHS, as well as a teacher there for the past 5 years, I can assure you that most everyone at Union Co., myself included, loves Coach Jesse. He has done a tremendous job with the boys program at our school. So rest assured you are getting a top-notch, young coach. The boys will be devestated to say the least, but good luck to Coach Jesse! ---rSquared
  24. Are you talking about Friendship Christian? Are you kidding me? With a 25-16 season mark and a state tournament appearance no less? What was he/she fired for?
