  1. Yeah I ended up getting to go. It wasn’t much of a game. Pretty sure it was like 22-4 at the half. Underclass ladies got some good PT tonight. Not saying anything bad about Washburn. Just didn’t have anything for us tonight. Hope for safe travels for everyone headed home tonight. The weather was getting ugly after the game earlier
  2. So what’s the chances that the game gets canceled tonight?
  3. Mckinney deserves all she gets. She prolly has as many hours on the Court as anyone at Cloudland HS/MS and has worked her tail off. Well Maybe besides her Cousins that already play on Girls Varsity squad. Yeah the 8th Grade Post player is gonna be a dandy as well. She is super strong and determined. Just needs time on the Court with those girls next year. Actually that 8th Grade team has a bunch of Talent. I’m sure Birch is looking forward to the next 4 years as Lady Lander Coach. I know I’m excited about it. Heck from this years Jrs down to the 8th graders they prolly haven’t lost a total of 20 games in Reg season ball in 5-6 years. Those girls had that game Sat in their hands as well as the State Championship last year. They were ahead by plenty in both games. But didn’t finish it and that’s what counts. A lot of broken hearts Sat but it’ll only help them in the Future. If this years HS team can get a Sub State game at home I’d say we make a State Appearance. Maybe get a good draw down there and make some noice. Wouldn’t surprise me to see them go a couple or 3 times in 4-5 years to come. Just my opinion tho
  4. Yeah you could tell they were all high and mighty when they came out on the court for warm ups. Acted it any way. Honestly I or anyone else I talked to at the game didn’t see that outcome coming. After what I had heard about UH and y’all I figured it would be a tuff night for the Landers. Especially with a starting guard out sick for the Landers. But yeah the “Flare” was there. Don’t get me wrong they have a couple or 3 good players and will be a tuff out come tournament time by any local team. But last night in Roan Mountain just wasn’t their night to shine. It was all Cloudland. The first Qtr was pretty much tied up and back and forth the whole time. Then the second Qtr we started to get a little unexpected lead and I feel that what hurt UH some. They didn’t see this coming either and it was hurting their pride quite a bit. After what happened with UH and y’all I think they felt last night should’ve been like practice to them. The big Flares started in the 2nd half with the UH Coach getting Teed up and then 2 separate players getting a Technical. Cloudland coaches had a good game plan and more importantly the Home team guys honestly just played their rears off. Once they seen they could play with these guys that opened up the game a lot. Not to take anything away from any kid on Cloudland team at all but Blair played a huge role in the win. They just couldn’t stop him. 32 pnts and a bunch of boards. The couple stand out players for UH got in foul trouble and eventually both fouled out. Not taking anything away from those boys. They can play ball. But they just couldn’t keep up with our guard and got tired and just started grabbing and fouling. Now this might be a totally different outcome in games to come this year with the Bucs, but last night was ALL Cloudland. Hats off to all the Landers last night. Heck even a couple or 3 Sophomores got to see quality play time last night. It was a clean sweep for us last night. Great job to all
  5. I’d say 200-250. Just guessing tho. Can’t be much more than that if so. I graduated in 94 with 38 other grads. And I think the numbers are lower now. Especially this years Freshman class. Great Community School tho and can say I am proud to have been a part of that Community growing up. Some great Coaches and Teachers back in the day. Some that taught you respect, responsibility, life and discipline, they actually cared about each other and the Community. Wasn’t Methskitos running around everywhere either. The game will prolly be a lil closer than I had first said and I hope I’m wrong but I’d say HV wins without it going down to the wire. Won’t get to be at the game Friday night due to Family Camping trip but if we wasn’t camping I’d go watch. I’m not a Fair-Weather fan. I’ve pulled for Cloudland thru the thick and thin for many years.
  6. I’m playing bud. Just trying to get a raise out of ole King
  7. King has no clue. He has been staying in and quite for months now. He knows what direction the program is heading. Hate to say it but it’s true. Cloudland High will just be a empty building with lots of memories in the next prolly 4-5 years. Just my opinion tho
  8. I don’t see a close one. Just my opinion tho. The team that the mascot wears the most make up wins by 3 scores in this one.
  9. I’m Not sure if that just yet. I’ve heard of a couple that might do it but not certain
  10. Yeah that would be great Bull. I know that HS ball is different and just because last years Jr. High team made it to the Championship game doesn’t mean they will do anything later. But I will say this and those who was there and seen it will have to agree. Those girls had the Trophy to lose in that last game. It was theirs pretty much the whole game. If I’m not mistaken we led by as many as 15 at one point and was controlling every possession. But they didn’t complete the game and the other team won! I know of a couple on that team that works their tales off pretty much year around and didn’t like settling for 2nd place and it wouldn’t surprise me to see them bring the 1st Gold Ball back to Roan Mtn! Just my opinion tho.
  11. King what grade are the Twins in? And I know this is the HS message board but do you know who will be coaching Jr. High now?
  12. I’ll also go out on a limb and say that the Lady Landers host a SubState game in the next 2 years and make a State Appearance soon. Birch is stepping back into a slew of talent that he has been very close to and has Coached and will for about the next 5 years. Should be very exciting to watch Lady Lander B ball for a while!
  13. I’d put my $ on the former Jr. High Coach
  14. Yep! A good leader is at upmost importantance! Your 2 lil girls age will be another talented group but the next 5 years could be a great chance for a Gold Ball to be placed in CHS. Whoever gets the Head coaching job in stepping into a slew of talent. That’s a Coach’s dream. Next years Freshman through Junior class has done nothing but win. But they have lost 3-4 good players to Cheerleading too. We shall see I guess. I know who I think has the best shot to take them to the Championship game but not sure he will have the chance to do it.
  15. The future of the Lady Landers in the next like 5 years is looking pretty good. But who is going to be leading those Young Ladies?
  16. I say NO to Avery! Just because we are not use to Turf. Happy Valley Field is a good choice in my opinion. But no matter where it is, if it’s not on Orr Field then it’s not gonna be Home Field advantage. But I do understand the shape the Field was in on Friday night. You couldn’t have soaked a Football Field size Tarp with Dawn dish detergent and it have been any slicker. QB and the Recievers for The Wave done a good job of pass and catch with what they had to work with. Ole Dallas B prolly went through a basket full of towels trying to keep the Football dry all night for us. No matter where it is played, I plan on being there. Just hope for a different outcome than last years game. Actually I hope it’s no where close to being like that game. Those Jackets Man handled us.
  17. I know it’s only halftime but my gut has been in a rumble the past couple or 3 days being sick so I’m guessing that’s why I picked like I did! Lol! My bad King, I stand corrected! Still a lot of football to go tho! I’m not being out of the way by saying this but has Hampton got a First down yet?
  18. That’s right bud. No sech thang as mistake free Football unless it’s Pujos Chiefs playing. Lol. It’ll be interesting that’s fer sure and like one said in another post, this game means nothing, but means EVERYTHING. Both teams need to come off Orr Field Injury free Friday night and if so that’s a win for both teams in a sortuv fashion.
  19. Not hardly bud. I’m actually one that tries to and does find the positive in anyone and looks for it. I havnt even watched Hampton play this year. Like I said that was just a gut feeling and my opinion. Hope I’m wrong tho. I sure don’t bleed H-Town Dog Blood. So your saying ya by 14?
  20. Gonna make this short but not so sweet and I hate to even say it but I’m gonna be honest and go with my gut feeling and say Dogs by 12. Not sure why but that’s my thoughts. Hope for a different outcome tho. And hope and pray for Injury free on both sides of 19-E.
  21. Weather is looking like it’s gonna cooperate Fri eve for Game time. Mostly clear and temps around 70 around Kickoff. Can’t wait! If King wouldn’t have gave up on us and quit coming we would still be Tailgating for these games. Lol. I miss them meals. We had some gooduns. We have fed Coaches, fans, players, Deputy’s and even Visiting team Bus drivers. Not complaining, glad we could do it and it was a good time doing a couple of my many favorite things. Eating and watching High School Football. Cant wait!
  22. Holy WOW!!!! I didn’t realize that either! That’s gotta change this coming Friday night. That’s a disgrace
  23. I’ll have to agree with ya on his heart. That’s 90% of why he does what he does. I Love watching that Lil feller scamper. Good kid to be around as well. He has had a ruff go round but striving and playing like there is no tomorrow. Like to see him have a BIG game Friday night.
  24. Ole King don’t gotta shave, he don’t have any facial hair to shave
  25. Yeah I’m talking about the younger fellers. Like I said it’s gonna be a while but those boys are purty dang good. The 8th grade class right now at CHS is tiny. Only like 15 boys in that class I’m pretty sure. Not sure why the PeeWees don’t have nuff tho
