I guess I need to clarify my post to some people. I wasn't putting down anyone, just stating a fact about Marissa that stands out to me. The words "I" and "me" are more dominant than ever in sports. I have been around youth sports for over fifteen years and it's great and refreshing to see a top notch player like Marissa act the way she does on and off the court. I hate the way kids act these days on routine plays and on plays that they should make. I didn't post to start trouble, but some people with thin skin apparently thought that I did.

Congratulations to Marissa, you are a "CLASS ACT". You never see Marissa getting excited about plays that she should make. No boasting or bringing attention to herself when she makes the plays. Good luck Mo!

I know the district tournament starts tonight, but does anyone know who plays and at what time? Anybody know where I can see a bracket?

What would each of these two teams be like without their superstars? I think Livingston would beat Jackson County by 10-15 points without Hensley or Beechboard playing.

I'm sitting here trying to remember Jackson County getting any calls that could have went either way. I can't think of any. I've seen better refs in the junior pro leagues!

I think Upperman has a couple of good sophmores in Danielle Kelley and Kristen Hartung. They also had a good sophmore point guard who left the team halfway through the season. The team this year was extremely young and I think that they will be going back to the state tournament in a couple of years.

It sounds like to me that 85warrior is a very disgruntled white county fan. In most of the posts that he has posted about the Cookeville girls, he brings up Cara Reed's name. This could be due to the fact that 85warrior is mad that she didn't transfer there, or like the KEG55 said, 85warrior is a ######-poor sport. Which coming from white county, that would explain it.

She scored all of those 100-105(?) points in one half. The other team only had four players left after the first half. The others had fouled out, and the coach just basically said we quit, and went home.

Excactly what year did the White County girls win a state championship? Cookeville fans, you need to give it up because you will never get somebody from there to admit to anything!

I know that there is not much to do in Sparta, but dang people, there has to be more to do than getting on here and ripping each other about high school basketball. Every time Sparta plays a game are you people going to do this? What a JOKE! Get a life and quit wasting space on this board.

Sparta won at HOME, if the game was at Gainesboro, Sparta loses by at least 10 points.

Upperman doesn't start any freshmen, but they do start an 8th grader. The Taylor girl is an 8th grader.

Pinkpanther, why don't you quit whinning, and just admit that Sparta was just not the better team on this night. How many of those free throws came in the final three minutes when Sparta was forced to foul? Typical Sparta fan with excusess. I'm not really a fan of either team, just somebody who went to the game to watch because I like high school basketball.

They have talent, but I wouldn't get to excited about this team until they actually play somebody.

It is really going to be hard for Lacey to step up for this team, since she is not playing on it.

Desiree is getting married. Kim and Desiree are both being home schooled at this time. I have heard straight from Desiree that they were fed up with the coach.
