If so many people have no idea what Offense or defense we run, let alone our roster, how can you predict so much? I sure hope your players and coaches are this focused on Alcoa. I'd love for your team to overlook our boys and get whooped, and I'm sure a lot of others would too...

Dos this kid get any plays off? If he does everything listed he must be your best athlete? How many players go both ways on the line or in the backfield? He runs plays in and out with the receiving core. And most of the team goes both ways.

As for everybody, look for this to be a better game than you expect. Milan is among the best in the state, obviously, but getting to the quarterfinals means you can make it to Cookeville as well. I hope this is a very tight game, even though judging by what you guys say we might as well not come... And as for special teams, our kicker/punter/punt returner/kickoff returner/receiver/safety is one kid. Not the best kicker/punter but, we have to play with the hand we're dealt. He's fast, among one of the faster in the Uppercumberland. He hasnt been caught yet this year, but he hasn't played anyone like Milan. We only have 725 kids at our school friends, we can't give a kid one job to work on... we have to utilize our boys everywhere.

I'm not saying this just because I'm from York, but, SC played PC and Harpeth... two 5-5 teams. Sure, SC is playing hard right now, but, 2 come from behind victories? That doesn't sound impressive. If they are playing with heart, then that's great. The York/SC game is always heated. But, as for Silva being back, he didn't even play after halftime last game. How is he supposed to be a factor on the sideline? York has a great run defense, and a very impressive secondary. York isn't going to come and lay down for you. I hope this is the biggest crowd I've seen in a while because I have a feeling it's going to be. Best be ready for some hard hitting, mountain man vs. night pigeon football ! I hope you're right. I think this game will be decided by 2 TD's or less. It's at the hole, and that's just like the mountain.... hard to win at. But, with the TSSAA refs I think it will be decided by who wants it more. Great job to both, so whoever wins, Take it to the Metro schools! And, as for SC, Silva is back to full health isn't he?

THANK YOU! Lets try and get back on topic, which was suppose to be about a high school playoff game Friday! It's ok to have civic pride or school pride. But there is also a way you can do that and represent yourself and your community in a positive way! That is just how I feel. I hope everyone who has been posting so aggresively this week does not forget to post after the game! Go Cougars! I can not wait to see how the offensive and defensive lines of each team match up against each other? Also, does York have any team speed? One player, #41, does have some good speed. Haven't seen him caught this year, but, the #2 from Sequatchie didn't seem to have a whole lot of trouble keeping up with him on the deep routes. He did have about 10 yards cushion but, I'd say they were pretty comparable in speed.

Unfortunately....it will always be a public/private debate. I have no horse in this race (yet) other than hoping York does well in representing the district. What does it matter?? The thing is most small country schools have to play the hand they are dealt. Ever been to Jamestown?? Very few move in there. 99% of their player were born there, and grew up together. I'm not so sure GP can say the same, I don't know, maybe they can....but there seems to be a large number that go to school there from other areas. If they didn't go to a private school, where would they be zoned and playing ball?? APPEARS to give an unfair advantage....true or not. This I must disagree with. About half of their people move there, it's just that that half are retired 60+ people who want to live the remainder of their lives in the pretty country. And, as for the boys, I don't know of one myself that has moved there within the last four years that plays. All I know have been there their entire lives. And GOODPASTURE, just chill. People will always be slanderous, it's just their ways. No need to get defensive and provoke them even more even though you aren't trying to. Just show up to the game, and if it goes the way you think, you can say "I told you so". Best of luck... GO DRAGONS!!!!

That's a lot to write.... and I'm sorry but, a ring? Not in the last 5 years... sorry. And as for the good playoff history that is true. Goodpasture is historically a great team, but, from what I hear and from first hand accounts, they are more than beatable. Like I've previously said, this will be a great game. Good luck to both. Just let everyone talk what they want, say what they want, and after the game, if your boys win, then you can have the last post.

They run the veer. They are also about a 70/30 pass team. Couple good running backs, good QB who used to be a starting wb for our team that went to the third round. Good receiving core. Should be a really good match up. They have more speed than size, and, as saw in the Smith County game, it is a great advantage.

You have to remember, that coach resigned last year. They got a new coach that runs a different offense this year. Not saying much in this one. GP fans seem to be down to earth than those of SC. They were a little cocky and still trying to make a couple excuses for the loss last night. This will be a ground battle from what I hear. I'll be there. Good luck dragons. Wow, can't play with? That is harsh. They don't have the dominant defense that allowed what? 2.4 ppg but, they in my opinion are more dimensional now. Like I've said, I've seen many ball games, and in high school, no one is in a league of their own. On no level is there anyone on their own level and unbeatable. Honestly? I don't even think Alcoa is "out of their (York's) league". It's HS football, anything can happen. Plus a huge upset? Like I said, HS football. York was 3 plays away from 10-0, home playoff spot, and a #1 ranking. I don't think this will be a huge upset WHEN York whens. . Speed right? York has at least 1 player I have never seen caught and they have corners, LBs, and even Lineman that can run 4.6-5's. And, granted that 44 and 2 has speed, what does it matter when they are getting hit at the line or behind it? They aren't power runners by any stretch of the imagination. 8.3 ppg allowed this year... I'll take my chances with York. I see York with this one by at least 14. They won't be stopped if they play like they did last week. It's gonna be a rough game... and I can't wait. There is no lineman from York who runs 4.6-5's. #42 may run that fast but no one else is close Trenton Dishman is one of the faster kids on the team. He can run high 4's. Ive seen them run before. They are out there. And Josh Roysden as well. Not only is he quick but he's also fast.
