The Director of the schools wanted to move $15 million in reserve funds to use for the stadiums. The County Commission wanted a list of how much things would cost which the director did not provide. The County Commission then did not get a vote seconded to address moving the funds. Political in fighting.
If that’s the way it went, I have to disagree with political in fighting. If the Director of schools wanted funds for the use of stadium repair/updates he should have known and had proper documentation of bids and cost estimates of what the money was to be used for. Sounds to me, if it went the way you say it did, the Director of schools dropped the ball and showed his lack of competence of the situation. I have no dog in this fight living in Robertson county but would like to see all the schools involved get the needed repairs in a timely manner. There’s just a way how to and how not to.

i think east has out athlete everyone they have played and it caught up to them.
I agree and no discipline. Didn’t make many offensive adjustments in the second half and SC did.

Going to be a tough one for the Red Devils, long trip and even a longer trip home. Clay will probably have a running clock in this one.

Beech has won 4 in a row against HC, but I still believe HC is still the favorite to win.
Hendersonville has some talent, but overall I wasn’t very impressed. They really haven’t beat anyone this year to speak of. I say that somewhat tongue in cheek as Beech’s three wins come against Station Camp, Portland, and Hendersonville (but any win against Hendersonville is a BIG win!)
How has Beech’s new qb progressed this season working in a new offense? The tv game I saw he looked good just missing a few passes here and there.

Very winnable game for Springfield, this will show if playing a very tough early season schedule pays off or not. If the Jackets can come out and score a couple in the first half I like their chances. If not it’s going to be tough, this team isn’t built to come from behind. I can see it being a 1-2 score game going either way

These refs man…..hosing both sides

Hey DB, are you about 90 now?
I’m so old I can’t remember where I stashed the cash

Biggest game of the season for both teams. Winner gets a 1st round trip to Memphis.

Their QB is smooth
Their whole offense is smooth. Best we’ve seen this year

Centennial could hang 70 if they wanted to, can’t stop them

Happy Birthday @CoachT! Can you recall the very first thread?

Jackets offense looked a lot better against SC this past Friday. The defense has got to be better against the inside pass, SC torched us from the slot. That doesn’t bode well for us against Centennial, who probably has the most complete offense we’ve faced this far. They really use the middle of the field passing game and do it well, not to mention they have a really good athlete in Dominic Reed who will line up in the slot or run it out of the back field.

Yes, I’ll take Henry county by 50 also

#4 for SC is a load carrying the ball and he brings the wood on the D side. We have got to contain him running and and put some hats on him blocking
He reminds me a lot of the big fullback Montgomery Central had 3-4 years ago #32 I believe, except SC’s #4 is a little bigger.

This game to me is the most winnable for the Jackets of the 4 game stretch between the last two weeks and next week. #4 for SC is a load carrying the ball and will outsize the Jackets O-line from his LB spot on defense. I do think the Jackets D can get enough stops to give us a chance to win, just got to be better on offense. The offense has showed flashes and hoping it all starts clicking this week.

Black and Vegas gold for me. We setup a tailgate last year, but it was a little further from the stadium.
If you get a chance run by and talk to @olddevil and @Drewcephus they’ll be on the practice field tailgating. They’re what we call “good people” around here.

Simple chow planned: pulled pork and smoked bologna
Dang hate I’m missing that! It’s always good getting to talk you and @Drewcephus, y’all sure know how to put on a great tailgate and good high school football talk.

I’m surprised no one has started this thread before now. It’s always hard to win in Paris, and it will be for this young Jackets team. Henry County is coming off a big win over Riverdale while Springfield took one on the chin in losing to Clarksville.
I just want to see some improvement from the Springfield offense with some sustained drives. There were no first downs made in the second half vs Clarksville and the undersized defensive line got worn down by the CHS running game. Clarksville seemed like they had the ball 75% of the second Half.
I bet the Patriots are licking their chops while watching the Clarksville film vs Springfield. I will be happy to be in the ball game in the second half. This Jacket team will fight to the very end, but this week they have a big mountain to try to climb.
100% Agreed. Really just want to see improvement on the offensive side of the ball, can’t win games not scoring points or moving the ball. Defense looked good considering the tough spots they were in during the first half against Clarksville. Just growing pains of a very young Jackets team in a rebuilding year. Just have to tell myself not many of these guys have seen varsity action and especially against the type varsity players they’ve been seeing. Not going to lie and predict an upset victory in this one, just really want to see improvement all around against a very good and talented HC team.

I think your off by a year, LC was 6-5 in 2004. Your right though that was a great game, there was a time during that season where I thought LC was going to go 15-0. I miss the rivalry they had with RuCo
Probably am off by a year, almost 20 years ago lol, I do remember Riverdale winning a low scoring game that night.

Part of the reason I'm holding out for another Oakland-HC series. Sounds similar to how The Pit was in its heyday
That’s a spot on comparison. I saw one of the best high school football games at The Pit back in 04’ between Riverdale and LC. Standing room only packed 4-5 deep around the fence

Henry County by 7, just think they’re the more consistent team right now.
