Mountain Lakes Predictions

1. Elizabethton

2. Tennessee High

3. Sullivan South

4. Sullivan Central

5. Sullivan North

6. Johnson Co

7. Sullivan East

8. Unicoi Co.

Elizabethton will have some younger players returning from last year so I look for them to win.

The top three picks should be correct seeing as they will have a game with DB. Elizabethton and Tennessee will play Science Hill ( I'm not sure if they have improved this year or not)

Sullivan Central is returning a lot of players and I look for them to have a little payback against Sullivan East for that 46-0 defeat last year considering they usually have a good track record against East as does South. (Ex: 1997, 0-9 Sullivan Central defeating 6-3 Sullivan East 24-21)

Picks 4-7 could go either way. I think Sullivan North can handle some of the teams. Unicoi will stay at the bottom like they normally do but they have been known to have a hard hitting defense even though the score never reflects it.

Science Hill will be the stopping place for both TN. High and Elizabethton.

The Mountain Lakes is a descent conference, but should stay where they belong, playing 4A schools or less.

The Topper's should (and do) stick to BBall. Football is not a much in JC> Betsy for sure and even a down Viking team should whip the Toppers.... and make sure and smile for game 10 of the season (and the last game of the season) when DB spanks that Topper tail yet again.

Roll Tribe Roll

Giddy Up!!

SH is always in the hunt....... almost always, but we're talking '05. History has nothing to do with next year. Both games should be dandys. Good luck! thumb

    • I have no affiliation with Maryville anymore outside of being a 2nd generation graduate from a large family of Rebel alumni. That relationship ended courtesy of the lame duck AD (a Bearden grad I might add) and the HBIC. That said, I could care less if a private school comes through and offers every promising athlete out of that school or any other school better opportunities.
    • A perfect example is for athletes at Clinton High School. I will completely understand, and hopefully everyone should understand why they want to, and as of right now, it looks like that’s going to happen in numbers over the summer.
    • I mean, that’s easy to say when it hasn’t happened to your school that often, if at all, but yeah, I think everybody should be for the student athlete or player. Whatever they think will help them or their athletic career, I feel like they should be able to do that, even if that means transferring schools. Now I don’t really get that when you have almost every offer you could want and then jump ship, but what can I say? I guess money talks.
    • I for one am all for it.
    • Covid killed the city because they chose not to play football in the 2020 season. Therefore, kids weren't able to practice and develop, and continuing to lift weights. Memphis basically had 7/8 graders, skipping a year, then playing 9/10 high school football. Now, there's only one team that has made a "dent" which will be Southwind (made it to the 5A semifinals last year).  If you want to go more suburbs, then it'll be Houston, which won the 6A state title, defeating Oakland Other than that, I agree.
