With Station Camp winning over Dekalb County 7-0 and Greenbrier beating Smith County 4-2 in the reginoals, it looks like the on going battle between Station Camp and Greenbrier is going into another inning. They have met 6 times this year, each team claiming 3 victories. It should be a good one at Station Camp this Wednesday.

Good to see a couple of 8AA teams advance to region finals. It didn't really suprise me though because the caliber of softball out east is down from what it is in 8AA. Smith County had a great season, but when you are undefeated it means two things: one that you are a pretty good team and two, you played NO ONE!! I did see where they had a nice victory over Cookeville, but their reluctance to play in the tournaments really hurt that squad.

Congratulations on a good season Smith County, but 20-1 and not even get a whiff of the state tournament says alot about the schedule that you all played. Not demeaning anyone, but all teams aren't created equal and you all played some of the lower scale teams around. District 7AA has been traditionally weaker than average. Just stating facts here.

7AA has not been weaker than average. Most of the games between 8AA and 7AA have come down to the last inning or into extra innings. I think you are right about not playing tournaments this year. It did hurt SC. I think next year will be different. SC should be loaded.

No selfesteem issues oldman....actually I'm very cocky. As far as 7AA goes, they always seem to get beat by 8AA. No team from over there ever makes it out of region. Nowadays if you are gonna be good in fastpitch, you have to get out and play the big schools and big tournaments. Then by the end of the year you won't be losing those close games. Of course when I'm talking about 7AA I'm talking about an area that athletically just doesn't have the kids to pull from that some of the bigger schools in 8AA have. Plus 8AA schools is closer to Nashville than most of the teams in 7AA and that is where alot of the fastpitch instruction is given at. Its just easier to develop kids in this area because of where we are at geographically.

    • That is absolutely not the truth.  Few if any college coaches or school administrators want to be in the middle of legal proceedings if there is any way possible to avoid being caught in the middle.  With that being said I have two questions: 1.  Why would a coach remove any player from the team for using the F WORD?  Yes, I fully understand the player must be held accountable for her actions.  Maybe extra running and even a one game suspension but if every kid or coach that used improper language was kicked on the team or fired, they would have no players or coaches available to play the games. 2.  If there was truly another player or coach that witnessed this situation, and they agree with the player then by all means the coach should be held accountable for their actions.
    • 1st round exit?        For real ?!?!?!                     Oh wait.....    are we talking band or football?
    • Assistant football staff still the same? Any replacement for Brian Beaubien? Who will be the DC? Will there be anything going on this spring with football? I go watch practice often.
    • Their feeder programs are in the best shape they've ever been.
    • The definition of what happened to the ex-coach is ambiguous. The school said they were going in a different direction and thanked her for her service as coach. Apparently, coaches in Warren County operate on one-year agreements of some type. Rumors are that she was asked to resign, and refused. Whatever happened, it appears that the school system did not renew the one-year agreement with the ex-coach to come back for another season. One and done tenure as coach. Stotts has been a guidance counselor at the high school in Warren County. Several years ago, the former girls coach who is now an AD and assistant principal dismissed Stotts from his staff on the first day of the season. That reality made the hiring of Stotts a mystery to many people in Warren County.
