Wheeler the catcher from Friendship is a lock. He was all-state TSWA last season and he's hit about 16 HR's this year. Sweeney is 12-0 going into Friday's finals, I think he's got a real shot. The soph lefty from Goodpasture is awfully good.

no the question was who does everyone think will make the all-state team in A this year. its not a thread about who is the best catcher.

Clint Shelby from Columbia Academy SHOULD make the all-state team. He had a very solid year. Drew Earl has a shot at making it and probably would have if he had not battled injuries all season. But who knows if Kodatt will even nominate any of his players? He probably won't even send their stats in to The Tennesseean for their all-midstate team.

Adam Stooksberry out of Collinwood is also deserving of an All-State selection at 3B.

Mikie Minor (LHP) from Forrest High School is definately deserving of Class A - All State.

Ryan Cooper of CAK, after three years of single A, has the 2nd highest career

batting average in the Tennessee record books ... .482

He is also 2nd in grand slams and 11th in doubles.

 

He could break all these Tennessee High School records by the end of his Senior year.

Several Division I schools are recruiting him.

 

A very overlooked young man for State honors.

 

Against Harriman, in the regions with Harriman leading 6-4, and 2 outs

in the bottom of the seventh, Ryan hit a 2 run homer to tie the game.

He also had a double in the game as well.

 

He batted .480 this year with 11 doubles, 1 triple, and 8 home runs,and 40 RBI.

He was 4-1 on the mound.

USJ should have several: In Single A ball you will find none better , whether it was hitting, finding a way to get on base, great base running or playing their position as if every game were their last.

Brian Petty - 1B......power hitter

You cannot have an All-State Team without the two Goodpasture players!

Chris Lowe -Batted well over 400 ,50+ hits , over 10 pitching wins, soild outfield play.

Jay Moreland -good stick, 50+ hits, lead GP in RBIs, 1-error all year(6 errors in 4 years) only gave up 2 stolen bases all year.
