well, genius, what is the difference between D I  and D II?

I guess your kid is one of the one's on a D II team that doesn't get money help.

The ONLY reason D II's are different is because they offer assistance and it does not affect eligibility.  any private can give assistance, but then they can't play sports.

DII schools can give financial aid to students according to income. If they give more aid than Princeton grants allow, the player is only alowed to play JV. They don't just offer assistance; you have to qualify for it. Anyone who tells you that they got a "scholarship" to play a sport in DII obviously doesn't know the difference between a "scholarship" and financial aid. Some people simply don't know the difference or think that they are the same thing.

Even those that receive a "scholarship" (not financial aide) can only play at the varsity level if they qualify through Princeton grants. Basically those that tell others their child received a "scholarship" to attend a DII school are just embarassed to admit they are really on financial aide due to their wallet.
