Most memorable Smith County/Gordonsville games

I have a couple. In '93 we won a very tight game on a long pass to Dennis Butler. Also, the'90 game in SC when Kendrick King caught the deep one and drug two G-ville defenders into the endzone to win the game.

90 & 93 were GREAT games. Don't remember the year but Foster & Woodard's Senior year was a Great Game too.

Foster and Woodard was in 98. That was a good game. Probally the best. But I'm kinda fond of "02" also.

I would say 1983 when SC won 21-14 breaking a 26 game losing streak. Gordansville went on that year to lose in the title game. Absolutely nobody thought SC would win that game. Two other great games were in '87 and '88. SC won 7-6 and 7-0. Both had very very good teams those years. The games in '97 and '98. Stacy Woodard won both of those games on shear will.

I think it was '88 when Dirkson finally busted loose for a couple of long ones and Doug Elliot blocked the PAT attempt by the Tigers. That was a great game between two very good teams.

In "02" SC won 23-18. Thats a personal favorite of mine.

That was a hard fought game. I remember it well. Especially the look of determination in everyone's eyes at halftime.

1994: The year Apple took the opening kickoff all the way. The score was 26-0, but we scored mainly on big plays. Really good game. We broke the 7 year streak that year. Not the best or most memorable, but good. All the others mentioned were very good.
