I said this before..and before ..and before.... the one way Father Ryan would lose this game..is if they turned the ball over.. and they did it time and time again... no ref's, no 1 man team, it was turnovers...and maybe a lil poor tackling...but also time and time again i would see the db's... nolte, nicholson etc. making tackles on running plays up the middle... that is never a good sign..

Don't act like everyone from Father Ryan is a hooligan and has no repsect for you..its not true..i t wasnt even true before last night..

How old are you saying hooligan, 80? I never said everyone from Ryan had no respect or were hooligans but there are several on this message board that had no respect for JP2 before the game and still have no respect for JP2 now. But I do appreciate your candor and repect Pride, it means alot to me.

PS I am sorry we didn't see each other at the game! :P

IrishDog thank you for still lovin us or wutever, and i HATE to make excuses, but i think we mighta been out manned (Golden Tate), it wasnt the knights versus the irish it was THE Tate versus the Irish, and well he came out victorious.  He was the difference maker... because we controlled the line of scrimmage, but we just couldnt acount for the gold and pride of jp2.  Golden you did good, youv gotten better.  We fought hard and mistakes got us.

ps. that kid that killed nolte shoulda been thrown outa the game, and the play be called back... bc not only was it holding, but stupid stuff

Controlled the line of scrimmage???? You have got to be kidding me. Maybe that is the problem. Ryan had effective line of scimmage play the first half. The line of scrimmage was dominated by jp2 the second half. The game is four quarters. If anyone thinks that Ryan controlled the line of scrimmage they should be given a CT scan, because they must have bumped their head.

You know I think that the admin from both schools thought that there may be some fights break out among the students but I think we were all pretty well behaved though there may have been isolated incidents of some trash talk and I guess spitting. The fans from both schools were GREAT...I had so much fun!

Well, actually I cant get enough of it. Last night I couldnt get enough of hitting all of you, and it was the first game of the season, so I really want to sit down and watch it and see just how we could have done better. Just gotta keep truckin, because *%@ happens.

spitting no, that's made up BS.  Ryan players were 30 feet from the JPII student section. They have felt light rain and thought it was spitting but please that never happened and they will swear up and down it did but that is a 100% lie

No, the people who were painted, were about 4 feet from us before the game, while we were stretching, i cant remember if it was the t, that spit on our players or someone close to the t, but yeah uncalled for...

Game is over. Many more to follow. Quit complaining about the spit. Ryan was

dominated. Get over it. JP2 is the better team. Move on.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
