What does Davidson Academy look like? Size, strength, speed. Do they pass or run or both. Strengths and weaknesses? They moved to Div 11 A and we in Memphis have never seen them play . We hear they are very good. True?

Bump. Nobody on here knows anything bout Davidson Academy? You would think that somebody would if we hear they are good.

Thought middle Tn fans knew their football programs so well. It is west Tn that always gets dogged for not knowing stuff and participating- guess that is wrong.

Sorry for the delay.....If Friendship beat them 35-14, I would say you don't have alot to worry about....IMO.

Thanks for the info. I take it Friendship is not a caliber team. We play them in about 4 or 5 weeks. I'll let ya know then what we think. thanks.

Davidson Academy is very big up front and was a much more talented team than Friendship! However, they were not well conditioned and their coach tried to be a little too fancy in his play calling. They had several good athletes but just didn't play well Friday night.

 

Had Davidson just lined up and smashed it down FCS mouth they would probably have won. However, Coach McNeal at FCS spread the field and created lanes for his Sophomore tailback who scored several times. As for not being a "caliber team" that would be a question to ask after week 10. They are defending Region 4 CHAMPS and are replacing the states most highly touted QB from last year with a Jr. QB who sat out last year after transferring.

 

Moving to DivIIA should help Davidson since there is not as much talent there has there has been in Class A the past few years. After watching last years DivII champs they would not have finished in the top 8 of Class A teams. Best of luck Memphis!

I figured from your Gallatin vs LHS post you were crazy. But now saying the DII schools could not finish in the top 8 in Class A! Class A has good football but MBA , BA ,JPII ect. are good programs. I believe FCS got a good taste of JPII the last 2 years. JPII was not a Div. II stand out last year. So people need to beware of your post and knowledge of Tenn. High School f/b. Maybe in your semi -pro experience you tool 1 to many shots.

Not sure what you meant when you referred to my post regarding LHS vs. Gallatin but I believe I said Gallatin would win which they did. LHS is at best the 3rd best program in Wilson County. By stating that I'm not implying that FCS can beat LHS, WC, or even MJ. I am saying their program is better than LHS. FCS has won a Region Championship in the past 10 years has any of these others???

 

As far as MBA, BA, and JPII I am lost whre you think I said any Class A team could play or beat them. I simply said that last years DIV II A champ could not compete with the best of last years Class A teams. I believe if you check MBA, BA, and even JPII are all in the larger division of Division II.

 

I am not trying to say that Class A teams can play with AAA, AAAA, AAAAA, or Division II larger schools but I am stating that last years DCA, Boyd-Buchannon, Mt. Pleasant, USJ, FCS, and JCS would have beaten Bishop Byrne!!

Any thoughts of Davidson Academy being beat by Friendship Christian at the end of the year will be put aside by saturday morning after week 8 is played. Keep an eye on the Davidson Academy vs Tipton Rosemark game friday night and let there be no doubt what was missing for Davidson Academy at game 1 against Friendship.
