The Cost (Gas) of Away Games is Climbing

The news has been saying the predict if gas gets up to 6 dollars a gallon everywere there will be riots and gas stations getting robbed cause people wont be able to afford the gas.

At the Sweetwater vs Loudon game the flag was at half mast, they were taking up donations for hurricane victims, asked all vets, police officers and fireman to come to the 50 yard line so we could honor them and the saddest of all shows of respect was retiring the jersey of Joey Hunt who was killed in the line of duty in iraq and presenting it to his sister who attends sweetwater high. They did a very good job of reminding all there that this nation is in a crisis

The cost of gas will not deter me from going to away games.

dhack - agree on the long trip for Harding Academy. Webb must travel to ECS on Oct 28. That is 367 miles according to Google Maps. Of couse, ECS did that last year in the tournament. JP2 travelled to Webb last Friday sans cheerleaders. If gas cost stays high, that may be another reason for private schools to go public like Knox. Catholic.

 

What about D-II AA tournament. There are only 6 teams + Ensworth who is building a program. Will there just be two rounds with the top four teams?
