Science Hill is dressing 3 maybe 4 freshmen this year. One of them is the younger brother of SH great Jerome Odem (Josh Odem). One of the other freshmen (Ashlon Adams – 6’4” 185 lbs and only 14 years old) COULD BE one of the top recruited athletes in the state for basketball and football IF HE WAS COACHABLE!!!

Justin Sylvester from DB is easily the best freshman prospect in East TN! It looks like he is going to do his time on the Junior Varsity team but could easily be a starter for DB’s Varsity!!!!

There are some really good freshman in east tennessee. I watched many middle scholl ball games last year. I went all over and watched kids play. The ones that stood out most to me was Balke Jenkins, Jerome Odem, Caleb Bunch, Skylar Mcbee, and Isacc Smith. These are some of the best players I seen play last year. Along with the two 6'4 guys---Patrick Albright and Ashlon Adams. They will more than likely get taller and if they do...they will be some powerhouses in the future. My top 4 freshman would be: Jerome Odem, Ashlon Adams, Caleb Bunch, and Blake Jenkins. :thumb:

db has the best freshman class of anyone in east tennessee. sevier middle won the middle school conference last year, and robinson finished 3rd i believe. science hill was 2nd. now add justin sylvester (by far the best freshman in the area, at all 3 sports might i add) to seviers team of dustin mcconnell, jordan edwards, matt osborne, michael willis, and a few others, and they should be unbeatable around here in 2 or 3 years.

It was Vance Middle school that finished 2nd in the conference (HOW BOUT THEM VIKINGS) … and before you start handing out MVP awards I think you should take a good look at 6’4” 185lb Ashlon Adams from Science Hill. Pound for Pound as good as Sylvester in basketball and football and he has size to his advantage (14 years old and still growing). I do have to admit that Sylvester has the heart of a LION … a fierce competitor that always strives to be the best!!! Adams on the other hand knows he’s the best and is always out to prove it (NOT GOOD). If the coaching staff can break this young stallion (Adams), these two should bring in many D1 scouts to our area! They are both excellent students from what I understand.

i agree if the Adams kid is the one im thinkin about. he was a heck of a player. however, no one will be better than sylvester just because he does have a big heart and he works every single day at his game. i know this for a fact that he would come home from football practice, and go out in the back yard and shoot basketball pretty much every day. i honestly believe the sleeper of this class is gonna be the mcconnell kid from db. he was about 5'9" last year, and i saw him in their practice the other day and he is now aobut 6'1" or 6'2". i watched sevier's game with science hill in the tournament and in the 1st quarter i saw him take a pass at the top of the key and immediately shoot the 3 from close 2 nba range, and make the shot. that tells me 2 things, 1) this kid can shoot the ball for him to even attempt a shot like that immediately after catching it, and 2) he has alot of confidence in his game, which is even better. another thing about him, he rarely hurts his team with turnovers and dumb plays. he plays within his game and doesn't play out of control like a couple on sevier's team did.

it should be interesting to watch this class grow...

    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
