Best OR running back

I have seen some of the DB fans topics on here about their best players at certain positions so i figured i would get on here and ask my fellow OR wildcat brethren who they thought was the best running back to ever grace Blankenship Field.

Shaun Bohanan, sorry if I spelled his last name wrong. He was a pretty good player.

I haven't lived here long enough to know. Back in the old days (high school - Florida), I played with 4 NFL players and Spencer Gulmire is a better "football player" than any of them. Some better athletes, but no better football players.

2. Shawn Summer

2A. Spencer Gulmire

3. Corey Booker

4. Shawn Williams

5. Eric Menefee

 

From a running back only standpoint, Bohannon gets my vote as the best pure running back at OR.

 

I can go either way with Summers and Gulmire. Both are similar type players. Both played on both sides of the ball. The tie breaker for me at this point is Shawn lead his team to a state championship. I'm hoping Spencer does the same for us this year.

Although a different era, Jackie Pope has got to get some consideration. His average per carry is incredible. Wasn't it something like 17 ypc?

You're right. My fault. It was a different area, from what I hear Jackie was great. I basically was naming the ones I have seen.

You're right, that was a different era for me, but you can't have OR football without having Jackie Pope. I was mainly listing the ones that I have seen.

By far the best would be Spencer Gulmire and Shawn Williams.

what about james booker he was IMO the fastest player to ever suit for the Wildcats

I dont know who is the best all of them were very good...i know of most of these guys cuz my dad coached at Clinton and we faced them every year...they were all great backs...Bohanan was my favorite though i loved to see him on the field...

If you're going to consider the old guys too.....Jackie Pope by far.....

 

 

If just recent times......Summers easily is the best....Eric would be number 2
