  1. It's been a while since I have been on here. Moved to Myrtle Beach from Maryville for school and lost touch, but it is good to hear the Red Rebels are going strong. Sounds like the offense was dominant and the defense played well too(if you know who I am you know I had to throw that in there). I want to hear more about someone running to mid-field and yelling at us.? From past experience, that is not the greatest idea that I know of on Maryville's home turf (where we haven't lost since 2001 i believe, correct me if I am wrong). Well I guess Roll Rebels Roll and continue the hard work!!! GQ is definately a class act and deserves to be where he is at. I believe all Maryville fans and many others can agree. 99-09...10-3, 11-4 (champions), 14-1 (champions), 15-0 (champions) , 13-1, 15-0, 15-0, 15-0, 15-0 (4-PEAT), 14-1, 10-1...that is an amazing stat for anybody. Be safe on the way home everybody!!
  2. Some rebels know who i am because of the state championship in 06 and everything that happened but from what i know...the coaches are given their stuff and the school is supplied at base price not extra like everybody that does not have this "somewhat special" contract.
  3. krakatoa...go to unapproved website . com (it says unapproved website if i put it all together) and read my posts on my coach gaylor's surgery...I have posted updates on what is going on if you want to find more out about it...thanks Maryville fans for your phone calls last night and you growing concern with my dad's recovery...
  4. Thank you for correcting me...I just used some information that turns out to be faulty from our Daily Rag here...you know how that goes since i assume you are from Maryville...this is the same paper that got cody watts' name wrong for a week last year...any way IMO Maryville is the best...the record speaks for itself...there may be more teams in 5A that compete closer or beat the teams in the finals but that does not necessarily mean that 5A is better...just an opinion...I support Maryville and I just think that you should have to beat the best to be the best and for the last decade or so except '03(Hillsboro) and '99(Memphis East) Maryville has been the best...and respectively beat both of those teams in the finals... And to the above post that said that Maryville keeps ducking the line to be in 5A...you caught us...we hide the rest of them in our recruiting garbage truck that is very well known in Knoxville...especially in the Hauls area
  5. I am sure there will be disagreements with this but i am going to use some or your non-Murvil peopls's logic...someone posted earlier that since Maryville playing Alcoa was a joke or whatever because Maryville is 4A and Alcoa is 2A...ok this is where I use some of your "big boys" logic...last year Alcoa destroyed the 5A state champion from KY...oh and I believe that John Curtis that itty bitty 2A team from LA is ranked 4th in the nation who I believe beat Alabama's 6A dynasty Hoover...I know that this will rattle some feathers but I was just using your alls "big boys" logics here...oh and BTW Maryville has won 98-100 games you do not do that unless you are a big boy...a very big boy i might add...many people on here believe that Maryville is filled with a bunch of snobs and are blinded by whatever...all we do is win, sure if Hillsboro wins on Saturday i will tip my hat and say congratulations as did the hillsboro fans did to me after 01 and 02 and as the melrose fans did in 04 and 05...oh and whoever said that there are better coaches than at Maryville...that was the most rediculous statement I have seen...there is only one other head coach in this state that has the pedigree of Quarels...he is about 5 miles away in the city of Alcoa with the last name Rankin...and since i just keep ranting on i will add this one question...did any of you "big boys" play a 12-0 team, 13-0 team, and a 14-0 team...tell me a tougher road record wise...please i beg you...if you can't then you should just eat a little more crow since some of you have said that Maryville plays nobody.
  6. Yes DL you are right...you should FOLLOW ET football...you definately have no clue what you are talking about...put it this way...i graduated last year from MHS...I did a report on the growing Maryville community in 6th grade...the person that I interviewed was Coach Ellis the offensive line coach...he told me then and I am telling you now that Maryville will be 5A in '09...those were his exact words and i have the report to prove it...you are an idiot...you almost made the respectable MOWEST fans look bad...you should just sit there and follow as GQ and the gang win title after title after title...
  7. Reasons that Maryville will win... 1) Tyler Maples...He is the best high school football player that I have ever seen...Mr. Football was not a fluke for him. His stats were amazing and was always there to make a play when the Rebels needed him too. He is also one of the finest people that I have had the pleasure of meeting. Maryville fans will agree. 2) Aaron Douglas is a man playing a child's game. 6'7" 230-240(not exactly sure on this)...He tends to make big plays in big situations as well. Anyone from Maryville remember the third down play against Hauls in the first quarter down the Hauls sideline...Opposite shoulder catch while getting hammered by three different defenders... 3) The Maryville coaching staff is the best in the state...IMO there cannot be any arguements on this because the fact that Maryville has continued the run without the best athletes on the field...just good football players with some really good and great ones mixed in...that is the coaching staff getting their players ready each and every week regardless of who they are playing. 4) Maryville has lost one game in 4 years...The guys that are seniors now were freshmen when that lost occured...I know that they do not want that same feeling as those guys did...I remember seeing Rouse and Arrington and McCord and the rest of that crew losing it after that game, which is completely understandable. 5) This is the most important...BA won their 10th state title. Maryville has 9 state championships. (10 if you count the Associated press championship way back when) We want to retain the most state championships in the state, and inch ever closer to DB in the overall wins department for all high schools in the state for football.....this one is just for laughs, but could be in the minds of Murvillians I was just the one to say it.
  8. Yes quarells has been offered by Furman...Gaylor has been approached by Heritage when they were looking a couple years back and Clinton asked him to come back...Clinton even included a house in that deal...Gaylor didn't want to leave again
  9. i gotcha the first time there spear...tick tock tick tock...can you hear that... thats the clock ticking getting closer to the time that Murvul moves up then you nor ooltewah will see the semi finals again...hahahahahahahahaha
  10. nope but i have seen maryville play and thats all that really needs to be said...i also saw your beloved owls play...you guys are pretty good...beat WB by 4 with lots of help...congrats on that one...i believe that the 3rd and 4th string played against WB in our game...Fear the Spear...what else is new..everyone hopes Maryville will lose every week but the people that wear the red and black...we will lose one day and then everybody that predicts us to lose will think they are geniouses because they predicted for the 40th+ time in a row...those are some facts for ya
  11. Yup we got them er recrutin trucks lined up an ret ta go...not sure what wed do if we didnt hav'em thangs...whew!...we done recruted ur coach bout 8 year ago too
  12. Of course the idiot from Ooltewah gets on here...good to see you guys are still in the playoffs...that 5A is so tough...i just dont know what we would do if we moved up...my guess is stomp on you just like everyone else the past oh...8 years in 4A...i just love it...I dont know about MLREB or FBE but RB is gonna get all they want IMO...BTW hope everyone has a safe trip down there...i have to stay in good ole Murvul for this one...doctor's orders...haha
  13. Will there be enough seats to hold the crowd that will be there...i predict around 8,000
  14. Well like I said in my earlier post...it was my opinion...having the same teams every year will get boring for some but it is up to those "other" teams to do something about it...I honestly think that for the past 8 years the best team in 4A might beat the best 5A team with a couple of exceptions...just my opinion though...I would hate to offend anybody...plus the top rated 5A team lost to a team that Murvul absolutely man handled...year in and year out...just stating the facts there...
  15. There is no doubt that the class of 4A is in the east or the state for that matter...The funniest thing is that either Murvul or Red Bank will have to probably beat 3 undefeated teams along the way (if they both make it)...First each other then probably Mo West and then probably Hillsboro....IMO 4A is the toughest class to get through in the playoffs because there are more quality teams with better coaching...thats just my opinion...im sure some people from 5A will disagree because they are the "BIG BOYS" and since a team that Murvul absolutely killed beat the top ranked 5A team there cannot be much disagreement with the facts there...
  16. There are a few other good places as well...might i suggest a place such as Kathy's Deli or Subs and Such or another mom and pop place...Maybe even Midland since it is not a smoke stack any more....good country cookin...im sure most of Maryville will agree
  17. yes getting there early is very important in most games at Murvul...the pregame atmosphere is the the best i have seen in high school football...IMO...but if you eat at the places recommended please stay as far away from our side of the field as possible...great food...but we don't want to know what you ordered...
  18. I do not know about anybody else on here but i would have to recommend the cheese dip for an appatizer(sp?) and the chicken fajitas or the chicken nachos...put some cheese dip on those as well...very tasty...i graduated with the guy whos parents own the place...very good people...waitors and everything else
  19. They would not do that because there would be people that don't want to stand up and yell...believe me we were asked to sit down last year at the MOWEST game and some have even complained that sit right behind the student section AT HOME...besides you don't want to give the administration another chance to take the fun out of football games at Murvul.
  20. I am not sure if I read this on this post or a different one but it was about Maryville and the coaching staff, so i thought I would give just a little intel to that subject. There was something mentioned that the coaching staff is paid more money just to coach and that's it. The number dropped by another posted was 70K i think...That number is shady, believe me. Most of the Maryville posters will know what I am talking about. The reason is that Maryville teachers are paid the second highest amount just for teaching in the state of TN...Alcoa or OR is higher I think. The coaches get paid more for a few reasons...I will list them below for some that are a little slow on the subject....... 1. Coaching Bonus 2. Playoff Bonus 3. Apperance in State Championship Bonus 4. State Championship Win Bonus All of these are factors as to why the coaching staff is paid more...Again I think I saw this on a different board but this was just the latest one of all the people that hat Maryville because they are better...The easiest way to put someone bigger, better, and stronger than you in their place is to beat them...Example- McMinn County over OR...and one more thing. Did anybody read the article to the editor from some idiot in the Daily Times. One that guy is just a complete idiot for writing it, and two he is even more of an idiot for leaving his address...WOW. BTW...I went to Maryville, moved from a different city and did not play football. Does this mean I was recruited to just be a student at Maryville? I guess what I am saying is when parents know that going to Maryville High School looks good on a college resume and/or job resume thats where they will send their kids because of the potential for success after high school...ATHLETICS OR NOT!
  21. Speaking of Rouse...I hung out with him yesterday at the river...he said his shoulder is doing better but it gives him some pain here and there...actually he left this morning to go back to CN and start summer school and workouts for football...yeah OT50 don't let him get hurt again...he has been through some serious injuries...and by judging from the semi-finals of last year you will do just fine...good luck.
  22. OK i was going to stay off here but as most Maryville people know I just cannot keep my mouth shut when Maryville is being bashed....if you want someone to get their facts straight then you should start with your own...in 1992 i know there were 5 classes because for a fact where I used to live played Maryville in the playoffs and won (which was the last year that that team beaet Maryville since then) and also beat OR in that same year...and went to the 4A state championships where we lost to Gallatin...Maryville was 4A then and is 4A now...those are the facts prove me wrong if I am....GO REBELS! BTW...have any goal posts been torn down lately...just wondering...hahahahahahaha
  23. Your tellin me...I know that the head coach at Clinton back then would get threatening phone calls from AC people the week that we would play them...haha
  24. Wow...thats pretty good Baylor...that makes two state champs and a state runner up that we had the pleasure of losing to this season...jk about the pleasure part...good job..great team...and hats off to those guys....they were very good. Murvul Rebels!
  25. You said you were 2-4 hitting off a D-1 prospect...so i just threw out my little stat...I don't even hit either...I haven't been a regulare hitter since i was a sophomore. On a different note...does anyone know who is looking at Byrge or where he is going.
