OFFENSE (Wing T Power I): Quarterback: Robbie Turbyfill (Mr. Football candidate in '96) Tailback (2): Dakota Benfield (3 times All-State, second leading rusher); Vincent Hitechew (imagine what he could've done in an advanced offense) Fullback: Tim Clipse (2-time Mr. Football candidate, all time leading rusher for CHS) Wide Receiver: Jeremy Gouge (All-State '96) Tight End: Brandon Odom (All-State '01) Offensive Tackle (2): John 'Kerns' Townsend ('01), Eugene Campbell ('96) Offensive Guard (2): Jamie Davis ('96) and Brian Elliott ('96) Center: Josh Brown ('96) DEFENSE (In A 3-4-4): Defensive Line: Keith Buchanan (All-State '01); Jeff Lunsford (All-State '03); 'Big' James Tolley (Mr. Football candidate in '06), Linebackers (4): Dane Christman ('03 Mr. Football back); Allen Barnett ('00 All-State); Dewayne Holtsclaw (Early 90s-Late 80s All-State); Gordon Barnette ('95 All-State) Cornerbacks (2): Randy Birchfield (All-State in late 80s); Junior Hughes (Great player in 80s) Safety (2): Donnie Sosh (All-State ('95); Brandon Jones (All-State '00) Athlete/PR/KR/WR/DB/QB/RB/P: Mark Byrd Far too many to mention that were good ball players - If you had this team here in its prime, you would win the state, that's for sure.
