A tribute to a fine young man.

The Memphis athletic community has sufferd a great loss in the death of Chris Mosby. Chris a LB and forward from Memphis CBHS , was killed in an auto accident early Saturday morning. I had the pleasure of meeting Chris earlier this when he stopped by Mitchell to meet our running back and fellow Kentucky commit Laray Foote. Mitchell is a 100% African-American school, so when Chris walked into the gym everyone noticed him. I asked him if he was looking for someone in particular and he imformed me that he was looking for Laray. We went into my office and had a conversation that left a positive impression upon me. I started by stating that he really stood out when he entered the gym and he laughed. He started telling me that football allowed him to become good friends with star TB Henry Jordan, and that taught him people are the same. When he is on the field all he cares about is winning. He stopped by the school to get to know Laray better since they would be teammates in the future. When he left I knew that he was a special young man. He could teach a lot of us a few lessons. Heaven’s gain is our lost.

Chris' family and friends are in my thoughts and prayers. It's hard when you lose a loved one - especially during the holidays.

That is very deep and sadning. I have heard about this guy through rivials and he was a very highly regarded recruit. I am very sorry to hear that this has happened.

I can't say I knew Chris but I got to play against him several times ( BA ) and he was a fine competitor and this is a terrible tragedy- our prayers are with his family and the whole CBHS community.
