Oakland DEFEATS Siegel

It is ultimately the responsibility of the HOME school to provide security in any problem situation.

Please don't get into this again. Siegelnation7 has already admitted that Siegel fans were in the wrong to throw bottles. I hope the young lady who was injured is ok.

I agree 100% that Siegel got way too emotional at the end.....I call it rattled. Senseless shots were tossed up that had no business being tossed up there. I think too many players were trying to play hero instead of team. Again, I know that Siegel will bounce back and take this loss out on Hunter's lane. I wish them the very best of luck tomorrow.

I know....could YOU believe that last shot of his....???? That simply defied gravity.

I agree, I think the Siegel players were all rattled and I don't think siegel gave the game away, but I DO think that if we could have kept our composure we could have won this thing or at least have sent it into overtime.

I don't want to blame a player for shooting an open three. Some of the 3's we took near the end of the game were open shots that we would usually make (we had a bad shooting night) but I DID see a few possessions we had where we got the ball to keith inside and he took care of the rest. I don't know why we didn't try to get it inside more...I'm sure King's D had something to do with it but it seems like Siegel's main problem was that they weren't getting off quality shots in the 2nd half. Good play by Oakland.

And thanks OHS for admitting that it was uncalled for. It's just something that pushed my buttons the wrong way and I needed to get it out somewhere...hopefully Siegel will come into the next game better prepared.

The game was great, but the stuff at the end was uncalled for.And I can't say i would blame it all on oakland. They were celebrating b/c of the big victory and the siegel fans couldnt handle it they shouldn't have went out there anyways. And it is said that jimmy hit someone and they are going to sue. Also Lucas jones threw a punch at haynes but did not connect so it wasn't a one sided thing. And i do remember siegel rushing the court at Oakland last year. And if you want to talk about class how is it classy to call people names, like airball joines , jailbird, siegel reject, and telling a player to go back to blackman...

I think that Siegel fans are a little bitter and trying to avoid the loss by talking bad about our class

Whoa, I have stated and restated that Oakland deserved the win tonight. Siegel didn't come out to play and Oakland did. We were outcoached and outplayed in the 2nd half. Why can you not just admit that there were some things that were uncalled for?

One thing is for sure, it's gonna be a wild ride to the district tournament

Oakland really impressed me tonight. They kept their composure when they were down by 10 and came back. The better team of tonight won the ball game.

I hardly ever say anything about sportsmanship or put down other fans or whatever. I like to have a good time and watch the game and chant and maybe throw in some trash talk for fun and games and all that stuff. I admit that the Siegel Nation has done some things that would typically offend anybody. The car incidents in the parking lots and all that stuff are things that happen. The bottom line is that it wasn't the Nation as a whole. Every school has their small share of kids who just look for trouble. But what I saw tonight almost looked like a planned out attack. I know that that's not literally what happened, but it was obvious that the Oakland fans did not storm the court only to celebrate, but to cause trouble. Again, I understand that every fan section, especially in rivalry games, have their small share of mischievous folks. And a lot of people want to say that our players started it, but what would you do if your teammate was being mobbed and smothered by a massive crowd that opposes him. There come times when you have to defend yourself for safety matters. Like I said, I know the Nation has done some things a bit low, but one thing we stress is obeying the law and not initiating acts that can potentially cause damage to school property or worse yet, the people that are around. I never thought Oakland was a trashy school with bad fans. I only thought they were hard core rivals who wanted to beat Siegel badly. Unfortunately, my opinion has changed drastically. It didn't really make me mad, but instead it made me sad. I talked to Cutter after the game and he had a black eye. I know the kid and I like him a lot and I know he wouldn't do anything to hurt anybody, but he felt like he had no other choice but to defend himself. And that's what makes me sad... innocent people who only came to watch a good game ended up getting hurt. The entire incident was a disgrace, and I blame hardly any of it on Siegel.

First of all i want to say that i couldnt ask for a better game, win or lose it was a fun game to watch (like all oakland vs siegel games). Also i think everybody is blowing this "class" deal out of porportion, yeah i know it was a bad idea to run out on the court, but im sure Siegel would have to if they had just beatin a team that they had lost to 4 times in a row. As for the altercation with the Siegel players, im not so sure that it wasnt the players that started it rather than the fans. And no siegel fans can say anything about disrespect because as i was walking to my car (not saying a word) and i was cussed at by numerous Siegel fans....by the way Jaffarious Wade had to be the player of the game

its ALWAYS the fans. ALWAYS. detriot pistons versus indiana pacers for example, are you tellin me that ron artest started that? NO. it starts with the fans. players have one objective, and thats to play and win the game. they wouldnt single a fan out and start wackin on them...so idk how u came with that conclusion

prettyboy,

Words and actions are two separate things altogether. I don't think either student section can say that they weren't trash talking other players. Please don't try and tell me that we are not classy because we call other players names, because you do the same.

Also, everything done by our players tonight was provoked by Oakland fans. I was told of the incident and if I was in Jimmy or Lucas's place I would have done the same thing. In my opinion it is just brainless to storm the court and talk trash to the players of a team that you have just beaten.
