State Dual Tournament

If every 2 regions send 3 teams that will be 15 teams (Example Reg. 1& Reg. 2 send 3, Reg. 3 & 4 send 3) with 10 Regions that is 15 teams, for a 16-team bracket where does the other team come from? Does anybody out there know?

The runners-up from Regions 6 and 10 qualify without having to wrestle a sub-state (6 because of its density of power, 10 because their travel for a sub-state would be excessive).

VI. DUAL MEET REGIONAL AND STATE TOURNAMENTS

A. In Division I, each Class AAA Region and Class A-AA Section shall determine a

champion by any method the region/section selects. The runner-up from Regions 6 and

10 shall also qualify for the state tournament.

In addition, the following 4 meets will determine a representative for the Dual Meet State

Tournament:

1. Region 1 Runner-Up vs. Region 2 Runner-Up

2. Region 3 Runner-Up vs. Region 4 Runner-Up

3. Region 5 Runner-Up vs. Region 7 Runner-Up

4. Region 8 Runner-Up vs. Region 9 Runner-Up

In odd numbered years, Regions 1, 3, 5, and 9 shall determine the site of the meet. In

even numbered years, Regions 2, 4, 7, and 8 shall determine the site of the meet.

4 - winners of the four matches between runner-ups (except for 6 &10)

 

That should add up to 16 teams.

Well i don't really know about any other regions but i know for sure you got 8 messed up i think we(springfield) will take 1st cuz we're seeded 2nd and thats only because we had some guys not make weight and if we want it as bad as i think we do then every one will make weight and we'll win the region.

Don't forget that their are 8 teams in the Region Duals. While you say you had some guys not make weight when you lost to Hendersonville, keep in mind, Smyrna had 5 starters out the night we wrestled you. Also, The Hendersonville Smyrna match was closer than a lot of people realize. I really think it will come down to which team wants it bad enought. Hendersonville, Springfield, Beech, Smyrna maybe even Lavergne.
