Coaches

Our football program is interested in purchasing video editing equipment from Webb Electronics. We had the demo today, but would like to hear some feedback from coaches who have used this equipment. Pros, Cons, worth the time and money, etc…

Thanks for the input.

If you have windows movie maker on your computer you could do the same thing for a lot less. Somebody will have it that you know. It comes free on many new ones.

computer with USB plug ins, video card, and dvd burner $1000.00 give or take $200

digital camera $399.00 give or take $100 you could even buy two

dvd and vhs recorder $250.00

$1000

$400

$250.

$1650

The computer you can use for may other things as well.

Everyone is going to DVD now, and I can already exchange film over the internet. The idea of driving to exchange film, along with setting a meeting time and actually being away could all be done with a click, and you go to sleep.

Movie maker is very limited in what a Coach will want to do in an editing system. Pinnacle Studio Eight is a much better program to use for simple highlight films. If you want to get a great start you can get Pro Scout for free that will wet your appetite for video editing. http://www.proscoutvideo.com/ We use DSV and it is a scouting program that includes video cuts. You can produce any type of cutup you need. It will also give you any type of tendency report you want. If it won't the programmer will set it up to do it for you. http://www.dsvusa.com/ LRS, Webb Electronics, and CoachComm have very similar systems. You mentioned Webb, Loretto High School uses it so contact them about it. LRS is used by Goodpasture and DSV is used by Northside H.S. in Jackson.

Go to the links below and people rate some of these systems.

McKenzie uses DSV. The coaches appear to like the software very well. The equipment is very expensive and you have to get some training to operate it properly so you won't be jumping in looking like a chicken with its head cut off.

Overall, I like the program too since I have used it quite a bit myself.

    • While one may be inclined to perceive this narrative through a lens of fiction, it behooves us to recognize the inherent robustness of its credibility. For those seeking veracity, the surest path lies in direct engagement with the primary source. Let us adhere diligently to the matter at hand, focusing our deliberations on the matter of paramount importance: the identification of the individual most suited to assume the mantle of head coach. I invite introspection and discourse regarding not only personal preferences but also the criteria defining merit and suitability for this esteemed position.
    • If it’s one single kid then that argument would make sense. He’s essentially had to replace his entire coaching staff in the first two seasons, and like it’s been pointed out only one left for a better job. The two most talented players in the area both left, and number of others are actively trying to leave, including the head basketball coaches son. Also, the rumors of financial problems and over spending by Jones. Unpaid bills, missing money, inability to fundraise, has the boosters sick of being hit up for money.    Im saying that is the definition of a poorly run disorganized program. If you want to pretend it’s a well oiled machine maybe you should take your maroon glasses off. All I know is I wouldn’t let my boys play in that kind of mess.
    • It usually gets tiresome when posters play characters on the board, but I must admit that I’ve found some humor in wingback’s take on this art form.  However, his rundown on the potential candidates seems as much fiction as his persona!
