Walker beat Morgan 5-3 on 12/2/05

Minwell beat Walker 4-2 on 12/16/05

Morgan beat Minwell at the state tournament 4-3

Walker beat Marcum ( FRA) 11-7 on 1/14/06

Morgan beat Marcum at state tournament 5-2

Morgan beat Romano ( SD) at state tournament 9-2

Walker beat Romano 24-7 on 12/1/05

Walker beat Reviez 6-4 on 1/21/06

Morgan lost to Reviez in close matches ( couldn't find actual results so this is based on comments in prior posts)

So, Walker beat Morgan in close match early in the season. Morgan beat Minwell ( who beat Walker) in close match at state tournament at end of season but Walker beat Reviez ( who beat Morgan twice) in close match late in the season. Both of them beat Marcum and Romano.

All I know is it has all the makings of a darn good match. This is why we all hate the D-I/D-II split in the Traditional State Tournament. It robs us of a potential match with a state championship on the line between these two outstanding wrestlers.

First it doesn't matter if a person beats one guy more than another guy did, that is no criteria to base any opinion on. Second, Morgan's only lost this season was to Walker in the Pilot Inv. Finals 5-2, at the beginning of the season, therefore both have improved. Finally Morgan never lost to Reveiz (189), he faced him and won at least three times, with the first 13-6.

We've already corrected the issue with the Morgan- Reveiz matches several posts back.

And the point of my post was not to say which one is a better wrestler----------if you'll read the post, I don't think I ever said who I thought would or should win-------- but to show how close these two guys were and what a shame it was that we weren't going to see them wrestle each other in a state championship setting.

Creagan is a winner and always will be. He did last year agsint a brute and again this year. He reminds me of Jordan Leen, one who always finds a way.

Abrigo was TF'ed by Holliman during regular season and majored by one of our non-medalists as well. Remember in HS especially, "on any given day..." or tournament.

Interesting thread but Abrigo never wrestled Holliman this year. Holliman techfalled Abrigo in the regionals last year.

When was the 13-6? I missed that match.

Riddle me a question Batman - Since the public schools pushed the private schools into a seperate division because they couldn't complete due to the privates cherry picking the best athletes with scholarships, why do we have this discussion each year? If D2 has stolen all the top athletes, then obviously D2 would win every match.

considering that at the catholic tournament whitaker lost to a mediocre jordan harless, and johnson tech falled harless, I believe that johnson could dispatch whitaker fairly quickly.

That's a cheap shot.

How is Harless mediocre?

He won the Chatolic, Bradley, Greenville, Halls, KIL, Region2 and then placed 6th in the state as a Soph.

I might have missed one or got one wrong but that record is not average.

Your post is less than mediocre.

Here is what Tn should do. Most wrestlers and fans want d-1 and d-2 back together. Lets put the tournament back together and just keep seperate team standings for public and private. let the kids wrestle each other. The d-2 kids get no respect because their tournament is a joke. how rewarding can it be to beat such a small field? Most of the d-2 champions would still be in the top two or three with many of them winning regardless. Keep public/private seperate team standings but lets have our state champions be state champions

    • Alas, your inquiry persists without resolution. Within the intricate tapestry of criteria delineated, the identification of a singular candidate who effortlessly encapsulates the synthesis of essential attributes proves to be a formidable task. It must be noted that the mere apprenticeship under a revered mentor does not inevitably confer suitability for the esteemed role within the Trousdale County coaching hierarchy. Indeed, compatibility transcends mere proximity, necessitating a profound alignment of values, principles, and competencies to ensure a harmonious union with the esteemed responsibilities inherent to this distinguished position.
    • Well, its that time of year again.  I really enjoy the summer camps.  This year, we will be hosting a play date on the 4th which will include Hampton, Unaka, and johnson county.  I think hampton is hosting one on the 5th.  5 freshmen will join the lady landers this year.  We will have 2 seniors, 8 juniors, and 3 sophomores.  Gonna be a new look for us this year.  This group is pretty dang good.  Unaka will be the new favorite in R1a.  They got a really good transfer who has an NIL deal.  And NG has most of their starters back.
    • Gotta take care of business in the village of Eagles first! But you will pass though the Boro on the way.
