Halftime: York 17- Upperman 22.

couple of comments-the whitehouse gym was the hottest i have ever been in.had to be 95 degrees in there.saw some wild calls bye the refs.a player got blasted in the face (i wonder if it broke her nose) the ref called her for a travel.on two consecutive plays a girl handling the ball flattened the defender there was no call either time.had to be heavy contact.but i guess the calls good and bad equal out.

Yes, some awful calls made. Chelsey Taylor just flat out elbowed girls twice when she had the ball. No call made at all. Then Shingleton, I think, got her face busted and called for a travel. Refs over there are definitely different than over here. Oh well. Keep going, York!

I have watched alot of basketball in my days, but never have I seen refs try to control the out come of a game like they did last night. The last call of the game where the York girl got the ball and was knocked down by the defender on purpose to get a foul and they called walking on the York girl and gave the ball back to Upperman with .8 on the clock. This should be investigated.

What are you saying? Are you smoking whacko weed? Livingston will beat Smith by 10. You can bank on that. I am going to go out on the limb and I hope it does not break, but I am going to pick York in an upset. ;)

Way to go girl, You picked them. Did you get to see the games?

Forgot about that one. Completely unacceptable and unbelievable. Hope they do a better job tonight than they did last night.

Yes I did see the games. Thanks for noticing my picks. My girlfriend and me were pulling hard for LA. Were they not great? Matthews is fantastic. York played a good game. Brown was great as usual. Bradfied played some good ball. Also, #3 played some terrific defense. I have adopted the 7AA teams this year. I have played basketball in New York. It does not compare to basketball in TN.

Congratulations to the York Dragonettes. Won another close one. The refs were terrible again tonight. Three or four times Ashley Matthews elbowed the York girls, knocking them down, and no fouls were called. Glad Stephens got the technical, though. :( Oh well. Just happy that York pulled off the win and is hosting the substate. Go York!

You must've missed Molly Eacret pushing and slapping Alison West with the ref standing right in front of them. Bad calls went both ways. Not saying that's what lost it for us, but they did. York, no wait, Brandi Brown just wanted it more than we did last night. Hopefully we'll meet again in state. Good luck to both teams tomorrow night!

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
