Cheatham Co. will win the district next year. The Cubs return a starting five of:

Joseph Coker

Brian Briggs

Joey Beach

Don Dansby

Tyler Guy

Other Cubs players returning that played this year will be Dustin Calhoun, Mark Campbell, and Jeff Hoeh.

Right Now I'd Say This:

1.) Cheatham Co.

2.) Harpeth

3.) Sycamore

4.) Stewart Co.

5.) Waverly Central

6.) Montgomery Central

7.) Creek Wood

8.) Fairview

I do think Harpeth will be good next year. Losing Erland and Davis will be hard but we will have people stepping up, believe me when I say that Coach Wilson has already got everybody working out on their own free will, of course. Hopefully Dixon(6'8) will get stronger I have been trying to get him stronger and getting a bigger vertical, and I think it is working. He has potential and if he gets more physical and is more agile he will be giving cheathams big man fits. Harpeth's starting lineup at this point in my opinion would be :

Trey Caruthers(Sophomore)

Kevin Giltner(Junior)

Scott Newton(Senior)

Chase Baker(Senior)

And the fifth man is a toss up between Cody Hudson PG (Junior), Steven Dixon C (Junior), Tyler Caruthers SG (Junior), or my suprise pick Perry Horkins PG/SG (FRESHMAN he got his team in middle school this year a state title). I like Harpeth's chances next year, but Sycamore with Lohin and Kinman will be tough, along with Cheatham with their starting five.

ON a side note I heard that an AAU team the Tennessee Dream will have :

Newton(Harpeth)

Giltner(Harpeth)

Lohin(Sycamore)

Kinman(Sycamore)

Josh Slater(Lipscomb)

and a top recruit from (Kenwood) Wilks will be playing together this summer that should be a pretty good little team dont you think?

HHSnumber1fan how about taking off the text messaging sig. Now that wrestling season is over and coach masters has moved to a foreign country, I dont think it is necessary. Kudos on the trash talking but lets put it behind us for now. Thank you.

Yea the AAU team that Newton and Giltner were on last year won the 15 and under national championship last year, and I think that is one heck of a line-up.

One last time for the sig.

Well Waverly comes back with virtually everything, except DJ Reid. He was the one and only X Factor we had. Starters should be something similiar to Chase Collump (JR) Alex Green (SR) Jacob Scurlock (SR) those are only im sure of, other possibilities are Corey Stephens (JR) Mark Smith (JR) and a sophomore or two may have a chance of playing. Austin Waggoner (JR) is a real good defensive player, but his offensive skills are lacking. Kane Richardson (JR) is just a good athelete. He is agressive, can drive very very well on anyone, good ball handling, but i dont know if he will start, but IMO he should be out on the floor some.

But this is way to early to tell anything, we will just have to wait until the topic is open to people other than Plus Members i guess now ;)

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
