Thanks Greenedevilmom for your support, but it is easier said than done.

By what I've heard from Powell, they are ready to play. I'm assuming they decided last year really isn't what they want again, and I don't blame them. They sound ready on defense and on the mound. Haven't heard much from the offense, but as long as you can hold the other team down, defense will get you the win.

We have been practicing alot, could have made some improvements, and maybe not. We have been struggling getting through our scrimmages and not won very many of them. We have practice Thursday and Friday to get ready for Monday.

My game predictions are going to be biased obviously, but I do agree with Slick. The game won't be a blow out, it will be pretty close all the way through. It will be a 2 or 3 point game. I think the "X" Factor will be who hits and executes on the base paths better. Whose on top of their game pretty much. Clinton over Powell.

Powell 5 - Clinton 2

Very good performance tonight by Powell. They have obviously turned around their program. Good sticks all the way around. Your top four guys in your batting line-up is your main core, the rest work their way in. Pitching by the freshman was very good as well. He doesn't throw lots of gas, but he still got the job done. Defense was good for you guys too. TJ made that great bare hand play at second. We had some speed we may have beat that out.

We hit the ball, just right to you guys. Two or three plays could have changed that game around, but overall it was a good game. I predicted the final score to be between two or three runs, I just picked the wrong squad.

Good luck to you guys.

Tonight Powell did show they have turned their program around from last year, there bats were pretty solid tonight and like CHS said the top four batters are the core, if Daniel Evans keeps strokin the ball like he is and the guys in front of him keep gettin on then they will score alot of runs, but the bottom half of the lineup does need to pick it up. The freshman Andrew Green did pitch a heck of a game tonight, he had a good solid defense behind him also, not to many mistakes but one was made when a grounder was hit to thirdbase not sure of the name, but the throw to first got by Daniel Evans and the rightfielder was there backin up the throw and got the guy trying to go home. TJ Farmer made a awesome bare handed play, the ball took a bad hop and he just grabbed it with his bare hand, and then the double play Farmer and Matt Hargis turned was very nice to. Powell may not be up to Halls level yet but we will see were they stand Wed. i might be wrong but you can tell that these guys have worked hard in the off season. Good luck guys...

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
