Bedford Co. is a very poor paying county as far as teachers are concerned. I doubt a coach will want to move his entire family for what will probably be a cut in pay. With that being said, around Bedford Co. are coaches from Rutherford, Coffee, Williamson, Lincoln, Moore and Marshall..........would any of them be willing to drive to Shelbyville?? Evans is the current coach at Fayetteville Jr. High, his dad Billy Joe Evans was a legendary coach and is a former board member for the TSSAA. Well there you have it...it is official someone has thrown out the name of Gary Rankin....this board is filled every off-season with Rankin is going here Rankin is going there....you can bet this will last a long time....we wont know who the new Coach in Shelbyville is for a long time if Rankin's name is being mentioned. They said they would like to hire a coach by next week! he already called and told him his price 2 come . shs cant meet it b-cuz they r probably givin their two bball coaches a big raise b-cuz they proved they deserve it. shs is not and never will b a football town. only bball & horses. so rankin will never officially apply.
