Who will be playing for D2 A title this season

Hey DII, Brentwood Academy a powerhouse in DII AAA has an enrollment of only 300-350 kid and they can still hang with the "big dogs." If Davidson is so talented then they should stop being so satisfied with mediocre competion and move up a class into AA.

funny how people get bothered with success. Do not mean to correct you but Brenwood academy has approx. 450 students in 9-12 grade.

 

Once again, that is why there are classifications.

They can't move up until the next reclassification comes about. After this season, it may be possible, but it would still have to have an increase in student population of over 100. Also, if BA is such a powerhouse still, why is it they have never won a football championship since the move to D2? Maybe they ought to look at moving down, oh yeah, that can't happen. That is why there are classifications. You play what you're dealt. Davidson will continue to win and play what they are scheduled. Eventually it will all just be a public/private split and more teams will be in D2 which will cause for more reclassification and more competition.

Are'nt there some public schools with no zoning regulations also?

They don't have "no" zoning regulations ... but they are called open zoned schools. You will recognize names and powers such as Maryville, Hillsboro, Alcoa. You'd probably want to add teams that are magnets too. Liberty won a basketball championship as has MLK in Nashville, and Tyner is always good in football. But public supporters don't want to talk about those so ... shhhhhhhhhhh.

Davidson Academy has 250 9-12 graders. Is it fair that 250 plays against 1,250 students? Everyone knocks Davidson but they did what they did with only 250 boys and girls. That is why you have different classifications. Do you remember when MTSU played FLORIDA STATE for the first time? You try and take Davidson and beat Bishop or St George.

 

JPII has 600, Goodpasture has 500 maybe, etc.........

 

once again try and do it with 250 boys and girls. Davidson is blessed with good coaching and good talent. Look at the score board.

I think so, they had alot of sophmores last season. There QB is a great athlete. The coach I do believe is the Germantown coach that was so successfull in the 80's-90's in memphis. I guess they have the money to have such a renowned person at the helm.
