Who will be playing for 2A title this season

I hear Alcoa is loaded again, CAK is going to be strong, Tyner will be knocking at the door as they always are. It takes 15 weeks to play it all out and often we see surprises at the end of the year. I hope the Loudon Redskins will be a contender this year but I see Alcoa and CAK as a challenging hurdle. but as much as I like the competition I just mainly pray that all the kids and teams get thru the year without experiencing some type of tragedy. good luck to all and I hope Loudon , CAK, Wartburg, Oliver Springs, Sweetwater and Rockwood give Alcoa's Coach Rakin a great big East TN howdy..lol...here is to good sportsmanship and good competition.

Hard to say that milan has the best coaching staff in west tn. I think that distinction belongs to Huntingdon. The Mustangs really turned the tide on Milan since that 1998 no call offsides that cost us our first state championship. Huntingdon now owns the bulldogs when it matters most, in the playoffs.

Funny thing about tides they go in and out ;). Your playoff streak against Milan will likely stay intact. This next season, despite having the best football player in West TN, it is unlikely that Huntingdon will make it past the first round IF they make the playoffs. This is just an opinion and is no reflection on the coaching staff. I just feel after observing them play that the TEAM talent is and will be down for the next 3-4 years at least but then I am sure the talent will cycle back up.

Am I crazy?.......... or did someone say Huntingdon will be down this year and possibly the next 3 or 4 years? ;)

Must be on that crazy juice or sumthin!!

Huntingdon is STILL loaded! Please tell me where they lost out on skilled positions or any position for the matter.

1. Boo Weathers...... replaced by Matt Weathers same style same speed. Matt was the starter when Boo was out hurt for a few weeks. Had a few 100 yard games against tough opponents.

2. Fullback/tailback /linebacker Chris Donald...... STILL THERE.... #1 player in the state of Tennessee.

3. Cody Crocker... Quarterback......STILL THERE..... One of the best Quarterbacks in West Tennessee.

4. Recievers......... STILL LOADED.

5. O-and D lines... STILL LOADED....Played young last year expect better things this year!

6. Defensive backs.... Loaded but young......had a couple that were hurt for the season last year that were starters, but will return this year.

7.Kicking game.....Right back in the saddle again.......sophomore kicker that got the job done as a freshman.

8. Coaches.....Still got the best in the State.!

9.. Fans........... Number one!

Whew.....I guess youre right..... we are down this year!! B)B)B)

GO STANGS!!!

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
