Top Five Teams in the State

It was only one starter who got suspended for questionable activities. The other three were as follows. Two games from last years red card offenses in the semi-finals and the other one was in Dallas Texas participating in the United States Youth Soccer ODP National Championship.

 

The preseason ranking, I believe had Blackman at #3, so we did get some recognition, but right now, you're right, we don't deserve the top 5 ranking, no matter how you loose, with or without starters. Besides, none of this ranking crap really matters, what matters is how you do in districts, regionals and sections and then finally state. You could win every game and just happen to lose a little ol' district tournament game, and the whole season is lost. And with the way soccer is throughout the state, that can happen to the best of us.

Actually, some of us care about this "ranking crap". We like to know that our hard work is getting some recognition. If you don't like it, however, you dont have to talk or post about it. If the rankings really do mean something to you then keep posting your opinion but don't downplay the system when your team isn't there.

While rankings are great, I would be curious to know how many teams that were ranked #1 going into state actually won it? I know that in A/AA the #1 ranked team for the past 3 seasons (going into the tournament) has failed to win. Anyone know about D2 or AAA?

 

In AAA H'ville was ranked 1 and B'wood was #2 on accout that H'ville won a previous game 1-0. However, you are quite right, especially since there's about a month till the district tournament.

we beat them 2-1 thursday, i dont see how MBA is not in the top 5 we beat both hendersonville and BGA, and we beat grissom 2-1 and father ryan lost to them 6-2

Yeah, you can't count scrimmages at all. MBA could make a pretty good argument to be placed in the top five though.
