Whoever we get he has to be better than what we had. Coach MacAdams was to conservative never going for the big play, that's why every team that was a threat beat him by watching films of previous games.I never thought he was head coach material. You take a coach like P.A. Pratt or Mickey Marley they would have already been state champs by now with the amount of talent that has gone through that school in the past five to seven years. There is as much talent in our school as any school in this state.

Also the next coach can not show favortism as our last coach did, that will cost you several games alone.

What really cost us from advancing further the last few years was a coach that was related to our head coach not one kid on the team respected him, because he would curse at them and talk about their families and play kids that he liked rather than play kids that had more talent.

I hope and pray the next coach will play talent over who they are and where they came from.

when was pa pratt state champs

Deergirl do you have any info on this subject?

No news on the new head coach yet. I understand they are interviewing a number

of people. I hope they get someone fair and impartial to all. Irregardless of what Mr. Latham said, I assure you there were many other kids on the team that saw things differently, kids who play currently and kids who played in the past. I hope that everyone will be playing on an even playing field--no favoritism.

Go Tigers!

Good post, RipleyTiger54. Nice to hear the perspective a player from the program and not someone basing things on hearsay.

Thanks, I was just a little tired of the Coach Mac bashing going on, and I figured I'd give a player's perspective. I'm going to drop it now and move on.

Laser Rex, for the time being Coach Myers and Coach Byrd have shared responsiblity for running the practices, and they've done a great job. Everyone (players and coaches both) are ready for a decision to be made about the head coach position so that we can start putting our offensive and defensive systems in. Most of all, we're just ready to play some football.

Will Latham,

went out to watch huntingdon last night at team night and met coacht mcadams. he was there watching his son. i thing carroll county probably gained by getting him and i am sure his son will be very welcome on the football team. the players seemed to be impressed by his abilities and seemed to like him. i think he will fit in the program well.

    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
    • You are so correct!  It’s really 99.9% of academia want to change to way that education is not only taught but the way it is viewed.  The pendulum has definitely swung as far to the left as possible and eventually will swing to the right much too far.  I have always  said that politics and one’s personal religious views need to stay out of education,  but for the last 40 years education has been running full throttle to what we have today.  If the social experiment that we are currently experiencing continues it is only a matter of time before the public school system in the USA completely collapses and all kids attend private schools or even worse don’t go to school.
    • He was a bruise but Aaron Dykes is HVA’s best RB ever.
    • I am talking about what they both did for their team. They both carried their team for four years while they were both there. I wasn’t really comparing them that would be unfair. Bishop is on a level of his own.
