Anyone get to see this scrimmage. How did both teams look?

The varsity score was 2-2. Obion County scored on runs by Logan Parker and Garrett Grady. Huntingdon scored both their TD's on passes, one to Donald and I don't know who the other one was to. Huntingdon had several turnovers as OC had a couple as well. I thought OC's run defense looked real good considering the speed and athleticism they were facing. Near the end of the scrimmage, Huntingdon put their first team offense back in agaisnt Rebel subs and scored two touchdowns. As a Rebel fan I was very pleased with the way OC played agaisnt a team the caliber of Huntingdon. Good luck to the Mustangs this season. :thumb:

Obion County Central and the Huntingdon Mustangs battled to a 2-2 tie in their scrimmage today at Troy.....OC opened on offense in the 10 play then down and distance type scrimmage...OC went down the field but fumbled deep in Mustang territory after a completed pass near the goalline.....Huntingdon took over a went down the field and was about to score but also fumbled down deep in Rebel territory...OC and Huntingdon then traded scores and also turnovers during the varsity scrimmage......

Huntingdon's first teamers then scored two quick scores on the Rebel second team defense...Both the Rebel and Mustang second team offense did not score on each other.....

This was a hard hitting scrimmage...Both offenses looked pretty crisp..Logan Parker ran the veer and mid-line option very well and had some good completions....Huntingdon looked good with Chris Donald and Crocker running the offense...The Rebel first string defense held Donald pretty much in check and actually caused hin to fumble twice.Donald did get loose on a long run late in the scrimmage against the Rebel second unit defense....The Mustangs are balanced on offense they are going to be tough to deal with in 2A ball this year....The Rebels need to continue to improve in the secondary but the run defense didn't look all that bad...The Rebels are going to be tough to stop on offense..They are trying to balance things out this year and its going to stretch the defense and not allow them to put 9-10 in the box to try and stop the veer...All in all it was a good scrimmage and test for the Rebels....

The Rebels travel to Huntingdon next Friday night to face West Carroll in the Huntingdon jamboree and I think they face the War Eagles in the 3rd quarter of action....OC opens the season at home on Aug.25th against the Dresden Lions..

I copied the previous post from a thread I had started by mistake....By mistake I mean I started the thread without looking far enough down the page or turning the page to see if another thread on this game had already been started...So now we have three different threads with only 6 posts between them on a Huntingdon-OCCHS SCRIMMAGE game... :thumb: ...My bad...

    • Tough situation.  Not sure the ROI is there right now.   Might be better options that are cheaper.
    • Yeah summer ball is really fun, but a lot of coaches are trying to play several kids to get much needed reps that they are not accustomed to. I would imagine Gibson County will have lots of players playing to get much needed reps. Want to win games but got to get experience as well and the rotation will be much deeper. I will be at MTSU, UTM Bethel and others. MTSU is the one I really look forward to.
    • So who are the new additions to the staff? Serious answers only please.
    • Its always interested to see the state teams the following summer after losing or not losing seniors and getting freshman and transfers. It's almost time.
    • Maryville has Alcoa on the schedule at the right time of the season which helped last year instead of at the first of the year not knowing much. West will be hard pressed to repeat this year but next will be a different story.
