Smoking in Stadiums

WHAT DOES IT MATTER EVERY GOOD CHEERING SECTION HAS A GOOD OLD FASHION J.D. SECTION........JUST SMOKE ON THE TRACK AND ALWAYS, I MEAN ALWAYS KEEP IT IN A BAG............

Before games I always notice that most teams say "smoking is prohibited in the stands during the game"... as well smoking shouldn't be allowed...It's a disturbance to other people...Not everyone wants to be around cig smoke at a game...I know I don't!!!

I don't understand why they make such a big deal out of smoking in the stands. Not that many people do it, and we are in the great outdoors for goodness sake. I see plenty other things people need to focus their attention on rather than who is smoking in the stands. Don't get me wrong, my husbands smokes and I hate the smell, but it is the outdoors.

 

We make a big deal out of it because when you are seated next to, above or behind a smoker you tend to get a face full/lungs full of 2nd hand smoke. Those of you who are not affected by 2nd hand smoke will not understand. I get a headache which triggers a severe migraine. Then I'm congested for about 2 days. You also have the risk of burning someone, which I've seen happen! Just a few reasons for making a big deal out of it.

Hey we went to Memphis Melrose Stadium a while back for a f/b playoff game , the crowd was not smoking Tobacco but Marijuana all around us . I was amazed at that,b/c police were around and they could not have missed the reeking smell. I would have welcomed a simple cigarette =)) TSSAA should have stepped in as well i think b/c that was a homefield advantage playoff game. The team should not have been able to have any more playoff games at that facility. Sick.

At Sycamore there is no smoking in the grand stands and the administration enforces it more than usual. Administration at Sycamore doesn't won't people smoking in the grand stands because that would violate TSSAA board policy and administration would probably get in trouble for letting it happen.
