This Northeast Team has improved from last year....Unfortunately for Northeast, Independence has improved TREMENDOUSLY from last year.

It is my understanding that Indy did not play as well Friday night at Siegel. Which is to be expected after beating a Franklin team then playing a winless Siegel team.

Can Indy maintain this ferocious pace they are off to?

Will they overlook an improved Northeast team peaking ahead at next week's matchup with Dickson County (Which will be for the outright region lead!)?

Good Luck Eagles!

Ouch,

This is my Three Six Mafia "One Hitter Quitter" Game of the Week. This one will be over right after the national anthem. The backup QB needs to practice well this week because Cordell, Pettigrew, Baugh, and Company can escort their girlfriends in the Homecoming Court at halftime in this one if they come to play. This is Indy's last tune-up before they hit a pretty unbearable slate down the stretch.

Independence 41

Northeast 13

The coaches do have some concern about this game. One, CNE shows good speed from its key positions. Two, an elusive QB for CNE. Three, some speed on defense that could put pressure on the OL and QB for Indy. Finally, how will the Indy players come out after a long day of "Homecoming activities" and no down time to focus? Which this begs the question: Why does a second year varsity program in its first year to have seniors have homecoming? Who is exactly coming home to recall their "glory" days of highschool?

Prediction:

IHS 35

CNE 10

:D

SAC,

They had a homecoming last year with no senior class. The only thing the homecoming activities during the day is distract them from classwork. CNE's passing game is good, no doubt. Not sure if defensively CNE can control Indy's offense. Also Indy's defense will pressure the QB. I think your prediction is close.

The homecoming week activities will not matter at game time. What will matter is the strength that INDY will gain from the bosterous crowd on Friday night. INDY is coming off two weeks of having to rely on the run. The passing game has been off and Scott Pettigrew has carried them through key situations with his tough running. But, the passing game is due for a breakout game and fireworks could be coming this week. I will be there early Friday to have a good seat.

    • Defending 2A state Champs Westview Lady Chargers are pretty tough. They lost a bunch of production off last year's squad but returned some talent as well. They still McCall Simms, a Tennesseee Lady Vol softball commit as well as solid talent around the diamond. I dont think they are as good as last season but they will definitely be a tough out. Huntingdon Lady Mustangs seem to be pretty stout as well. Don't know much about Riverside other than Westview defeated them earlier in regions. West Tennessee softball is pretty solid all around id say.
    • Eagleville couldn’t catch up to Jones, he did have his location issues but in that game Eagleville popped up everything and the one hit they did have could have been ruled an error. Jeffcoat was a lot sharper in the beginning of the season last year than the end. ER ran out of pitching and still was in striking distance but none the less the better team one. Last seasons tournament was A LOT more balanced and talented. South Pitts starter is a Lefty who was low 80’s but couldn’t maintain his velo throughout the  outing, their #2 was more impressive last year, we knocked him around this year and his mph was down some. Their #3 isn’t bad neither, throws a lot of strikes and sits high 70’s.
    • He actually had a really solid spring.  I could see him getting some backup snaps on offense and be a regular on special teams.  Really athletic kid who can run.
    • Heard Seq has gotten a lot stronger this off season. Can’t wait to see how the boys do this year
