3 weeks left blackman winning left a lot of stuff on the table and 6 of 7 are still alive

1st who is out?

Siegel

by my figures it will take 4 wins to get in

2nd whos in

Smyrna

Riverdale

both have 4 wins

3rd who is still alive

Oakland

needs one more win to get in plays lebanon, smyrna, riverdale

lebanon - blackman loss hurt still has wc,oakland, riverdale, smyrna

the next group has to win out

lavergne - lebanon loss hurt still has siegel, blackman,wc

blackman - huge win at lebanon still has wc,lavergne, siegel

wc - has 4 region games left must win all lebanon, blackman, siegel, lavergne

how does everyone see this playing out

me:

riverdale/smyrna - winner 1st loser 2nd

lavergne- 3rd place blackman will be their thorn

oakland/lebanon - can not emphasize how huge this game is for oakland

* the wild card is blackman I believe they will beat siegel and wc so teir game with lavergne could be for a playoff spot and who would have ever though that.

* there is also a scenario where several teams playing for a spot could beat each other and cause a huge log jam and then tie breakers would be used and there the 1st one is over all record where lavergne has a hug advantage playing and beating

glencliff 0 and 6

centennial 0 and 6

columbia 2 and 4

non region opponents record 2 and 16

but they could help in a tie

Basically every game from now on except for Smyrna/Riverdale, will knock someone out of the playoffs. I might be going to the WC/Lebanon game. If WC loses, their gone. If Lebanon loses, most likely their gone. LaVergne, we have to start playing with the same amount of heart and intensity that we played in the second half of the Oakland game. These last 3 games will determine which teams has the most heart. Everyone needs to step their game up and leaders of the team need to step up also. One game at a time.

And like DNJ said, "It's as simple as black and white: When junior Wide Receiver Chris Gray reaches the endzone, the Wolverines win. When he does not, they do not.

If your seeing this Chris, it's time to step your game up and help lead your team. ;)

Nice way to "toot" your own horn Chris.

Blackman will get in the playoffs and Siegel will go 0-10. Now who is the "joke" of the region? Bobby will get Region Coach of the Year. The Siegel fans are already on the basketball forums. Great support, seegulls.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
