Hey Kaz I thought AJ was suppose to a desently fast kid from what I was saw it looked like he was about to get ran down if it wasnt for Younce blocking that last guy. . Non the less good play. With that said ohs will have to come out and work hard this week they got a big game ahead of them. I belive even tho its a non regon game the guys are going to come out and play hard this week. Now befor I say this im not slaming shs, however ohs wants to do good this game to show people in the community that they arent as weak as most would like to think. I think ohs will take this one in a nail biter.

After delving deep into the dusty pages of history (man, 1983 was a loooooooong time ago. I'll bet all those guys are gray-headed and feeble now, eh? ), it appears that the record was 95 yards, set by Phil Newport in 1983.

 

That's what I was told by the fellow doing the research, anyway. He also said that the 95-yard INT return was almost the only touchdown Newport ever made. Whether there's any validity to his report, I have no idea.

Some of those guys went bald before they got a chance to go gray phil looks like he could still play though. I hate to see his record fall,but records were made to be broken. WrittenWord,surely your research team can find at least one more td by newport

You are NOT supposed to let this old bird open you up like that, I mean your giving me some serious numajuto! You know, I didn't think of the fact that Younce was Jeffers escort service into the end zone. He isn't really known for his wheels, is he? WW, Newport was a thief! That was the only interception he took to the house that year, but he read the QB's pretty well that year. (6 picks) They finally came up with a system that allowed him to play offense (he is completely deaf without his hearing aid) about the 6th game in and he caught several TD's. I probably wouldn't have all this info if he wasn't such a close friend!

Looks like so far the tribe is going to have a wet week of practice. This should help them hold on to the ball friday night. It is going to be a verey physical game ohs needs to be ready to go out and play this week. There will be in my opinion harder hitting in this game than in the chs ohs game. T L will work the D hard this week he is a good coach and knows how to put people on the ball what happens from there us up to the players. As for the O they are moving the ball a little better and starting to show some life. Iv said it befor the longer they play the better the O is starting to work for them. Friday will be a smash mouth football game. two running teams taking it right at each other. The players want to make a statment this week letting people know the program is going in the right direction. Good luck guys and go get em !
