You are right (of course) VG, Montgomery Central is in Montgomery County, of Middle Tennessee (Clarksville). Not even hardly close to West Tennessee.

Thank you JW. Why if Clarksville was in West TN then you and I would practically be neighbors! :(

mjuhb...I`m sure the girl from Clarksville is very good, but please find a map. Did you just not know anyone in West TN? I kinda feel a bit slighted.

its close enough

hey mjuhb....I`m gonna call you out on this. I know you can`t know everyone all over the state so don`t take this as an insult to your efforts. I know in the other thread about the top 250 you made a disclaimer that these were only girls that you`d seen play. I totally understand that. In fact I really appreciate all the time and effort it took to put that together. Old Timer called it an insult and in a way it was to West TN. I mean only one girl from west tn is pretty biased. But I saw your disclaimer and totally understood where that list was derived from. So that`s no big deal to me.

BUT for you to say that Clarksville is "close enough" to West TN is a HUGE insult. Clarksville is not in West TN. It`s been eating at me that you have that attitude. If you want to post stuff then get it right. Again I appreciate your effort but you are dead wrong on this. If you don`t know of anyone in West TN that is deserving then that is one thing, you should just say so, but don`t insult all the fine players in West TN by naming someone from western middle tenn and call that close enough. Once again...Clarksville is not West TN. I`m like Old Timer on this, it`s an insult to our end of the state.

Once again I know this is your own opinions, but to say someone from Clarksville lives in West TN is wrong. Try and edit your list and name someone that actually lives in West TN.

I have no problem with Katie. She actually lives and plays in West TN. Plus anyone who goes out and shoots 250 shots on the weekends is probably pretty deserving. I just don`t care to hear this "close enough" stuff. If you take the time to honor someone from West Tn then you should at least give it to someone from that region. Once again...you put forth a great effort to do all that but saying Clarksville is close enough was just wrong. Might as well have named someone from Eastern Arkansas. That`s pretty close to West TN too. Thanks for making the proper correction.

You may want to revise your list on the state team. Maybe you were mis-informed about the Sweetwater Lady cats. They had a very strong year, and could be a candidate for the most improved team over the previous year. Maybe your thought was cak was the most improved from the beginning of the year. Although they stumbled at the end in triple overtime to Catholic in the quarter finals, they did tie CAK early in the year.

Also Sweetwater had 3 very strong ODP players. Morgan Gruenenfelder and Mandy Seiler were the mid-fielders, Melissa Morris was the sweeper. I think if you saw them play, you would add at least Morgan Gruenenfelder to that list, and possibly Seiler, and note the proper position of Morris.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
