Columbia Central defeated Lavergne and Smyrna Boys today (19-8 & 23-4) to win Region 4 and their girls beat Blackman and Lawrence Co. The boys have 4 in the individual tournament and 2 girls. Watch out for them.

We shot 3790 against Lavergne and 3771 against Smyrna. 19-8 and 23 - 4 for the matches. The Smyrna group thought they could rattle us with the noise, but our coach prepared us for it and we used the pins to quiet them down. They were asking how far it is to Chattanooga after the second game. We have 8 guys who can shoot big numbers but 4 that are averaging over 200. Sorry about your ending this week.

yeah...hopefully we'll be able to keep our numbers going throughout sub-state and state...we were upset last yr. by bad decision making too but on our parts...we don't want to let that happen again.

sorry bout ur season mcgavock

Oh well

Good luck to all in the tourney, and to Future McGavock teams...

    • I have no issues with the Karns Middle School program.   Good coaches and he's with the kids he goes to school with.  He's a rising 6th grader who had to play with 6th grade kids last year because Karns didn't have enough kids for a 5th grade age team.  He's in a good place at this point.   My daughter is a single mom with 4 kids under 11 years old.  We help her out with logistics, so staying in our own area right now is important.  Once he gets to high school age, who knows what happens?  That bridge will be crossed when we get there.
    • I know he was a backup but I thought he filled in well when the starter went down. Never a bad thing to have a change of pace back
    • That would be a good get for them. Lowe always finds a way. Pretty sure they have their Rb from last year returning but not that line of beef
    • One school has said it, it was York…who Oneida and many school that played them before we did claimed that they were the dirtiest bunch they’ve played. Riverside didn’t call us dirty nor did smith after they beat us. Ur only dirty if your the one giving out the whoopins.
    • If it was anyone but #8 I would agree with you. Theirs a couple people on that team that probably would. Not him. And I who was standing on the 1st base line fence saw clearly that the boys foot was covering more than half the bag.
