Hixson girls go to 28-1 today defeating a tremendous Hendersonville team, 17-10 (3,305-3,266). A wonderful atmosphere here at the State, I suggest everyone attend if possible.

Hixson girls were led by Allie Chase 623 (170,227, 226) and Stephanie Bledsoe 604 (209,205, 190). Hendersonville was led by Andrea Higgins 637 (217, 185, 235).

The Hixson boys go to 27-2 today, in probably the most exciting and closest match in TSSAA tournament history. Hixson defeated White Station, 16-11 (3,946-3,937) and the match was decided in the 10th frame.

Hixson was led by Jonathan Gudel 744 (231, 234, 279) and Chris Holmes 729 (259, 221, 249). Jonathan Gudel was perfect through 9 frames in his last game, left a single and struck for his 279.

White Station was led by Joe Clevers 710 (230, 245, 235) and Nick Clevers 699 (245, 211, 243).

A super, intense match!

The girls have Hardin County tomorrow and the boys have Mt. Juliet.

And a special thank you from all the Hixson supporters to the Smyrna bowling teams and the tremendous support they gave us!

I just want to say to the Hixson girls, "Keep your heads up!" You had a tremendous season. Today's loss in the semifinals was heartbreaking, I know. You fought hard against a tough opponent, and I know all your fans are very proud of you and your efforts. You showed great strength and character today and are a credit to your school and your sport.

dawgsfan,

It was very nice to meet you, hope you get to use the shirt again next year and thanks so very, very much for all the support Smyrna showed our teams at the State tournament.

Girls, stay up, we lose nothing for next year and hopefully gain a good lefty. I so very proud of all of you!

catsbackr,

I was glad to meet you, too. It's nice having a face with the name. I plan to take good care of the shirt and am confident that I will get to wear it again next year to cheer your girls on. They have too much talent and heart not to fight their way back. You should also know that several of our Smyrna bowlers tried to get me to let them wear the shirt once they saw that I had it. I found that quite funny!

I am also confident that our guys will be back in the tournament next year. I hope you are willing to wear the purple and gold and show support for them (as long as they aren't bowling Hixson, of course).

Our bowlers and fans were proud to be Hixson supporters at the state tournament, and are confident that if the tables had been turned, Smyrna would have had the full support of the Hixson fans. Really cool.

We look forward to seeing you all again next year! (Unless of course, we can arrange pre-season scrimmages for our teams next season. Wouldn't that be awesome?)
