6AA tournament

Here is what one of the posts mentioned earlier, from the Whitwell thread. It doesn't seem too fair especially to whoever finishes fourth-they'd probably play Bledsoe instead of a lower level team in the first round, then if they win would play Seq in the second round instead of a team they split with in the regular season, and the coin flip is just luck. Not that whoever finishes fourth couldn't beat Bledsoe and Seq, that's not the point. I understand higher teams will host first round games this year then everyone will start playing at Hixson after that but not 100 percent on that. That's good this year for the girls, I believe the top four went undefeated against the last five, but what happens if there's a tie for fourth and a coin toss determines who hosts the first round?

 

According to Coach Neely, who is over district 6AA...new rules were voted on in 2005-2006, and they go into effect THIS season.

 

1. Your district record, obviously

 

2. How you do head to head between the tied teams, with NO point spread.

 

3. How you did against the team above you with NO point spread.

I'll be pretty disapointed if the point spread rule is actually out. Cause all that hard work holding the ball in the final 30 seconds at Grundy would be in vain.

CCS held the ball so that Grundy could not rebound and win by more than 11. In the previous meeting between these two teams CCS won in over time against Grundy by 11 i believe. If it does come down to that should it be taken into account that it was over time. This time Grundy won by 9 without ot.

It looks like it won't come to that, but Grundy had more time to score too in the overtime.

I was told today by another coach that the point spread rule is still in effect. And if it wasn't, why did Grundy still play hard defense?

 

Their coach knew what we were doing so she was trying to obviously score again.

Anybody can start a topic, but I went ahead and made one for the boys since you didn't seem to want to and just wanted to be smart. Go to it and post away. The reason I opened a new one here is because everyone was talking about it in the Whitwell topic. There's more questions about how 2, 3 and 4 will go in the girls, probably why it's being discussed more now.
