Grundy 55 - Polk 47

What a great night when I had such a bad outlook going in.

 

Polk brought a crowd and some rabid students to support their team. Nice to see several other coaches there supporting the Lady Wildcats. Polk was well coached and played hard all night. They led by as much as 10 in the first half. It was 20-10 Polk when the Lady Jackets began to make their move.

 

It was late in the first or early in the second when the Grundy student section began to make a difference. Best effort by the students this year.

 

The Lady Jackets just seemed to go into another zone early in the second quarter. Great effort. I'll post some stats shortly.

 

Great job ladies! Can't wait until Monday.

Polk 18, 7, 11, 11 - 47

 

Grundy scoring - Kayla Woodlee 10 with 1-3, Mandy Jo Sanders 12, Stephanie Miller 10, Kayla Sanders 11 with 3-3s, Ashley Sanders 8, Brittany McDaniel 4.

 

Polk was led by Holli German with 22 points. She hit 6-3s and was 4 of 6 from the line.

 

Grundy had Kayla Woodlee and Mandy Jo Sanders had three fouls each at the half and played with limited mistakes in the second half to avoid fouling out.

 

Again, Great effort Lady Jackets!!!!!!!
