Congratulations to Greeneville. As far as I am concerned Wiggins definitely has the edge over Wattad, although both are very talented athletes. Congratulations to the Falcons on a good season. You guys went further than expected.

Glad to see you made it safe. Your boys were exciting to watch. If Cradic had kept his hot hand we would have been in trouble.

QUOTE(Snowman16 @ Feb 24 2007 - 10:22 PM) 826387825[/snapback]Volunteer has to rely on their shooting which will only take you so far

Very good analogy Snowman. With no dominant inside man like Wiggins, he was just too much for us to handle. Tremaine was good but fouled out in the fourth quarter after the game was over. It was 26-26 after the first quarter. We only scored 27 points the rest of the way. When you go through scoring droughts like we did, it will make it tough to win at this level of competition. Congrats to Greeneville. Congrats to the Seniors on the Falcons for one heck of a season. You seniors will be missed. You've set a new standard at Volunteer, one that has been missing since the Butch Patterson, Jimbo, Soup Bean, and the gang of the mid 80's. I'm proud of you for the effort put forth during your careers. Tuesday should be a dandy @ South!!!! My alma school is DB and I think they will be hard to handle if Cody can contain Wiggins. Will be a great match-up. GOD Bless and good luck to the rest of the teams left in East TN.

That's funny that you mention Butch Patterson, because I think he is the Parks and Recreation Director in Greeneville. How good of an athlete was he? When did he graduate?

Butch & I graduated in 87. He was tough to defend anywhere on the floor. He was their undisputed leader for four years. Everything ran through him. This time of year makes people that played the game for the love of it reflect on their past times. There are many friends that I have made. One quote that I have come to love in the game is that "basketball will never give up on you, never let you down, or force you to play." High school kids play this game because they love it. I believe that this year's Falcon team was one of my most cherished years. These kids never caused any trouble, were very respectful, and played hard all the time. We were picked 8th and made to the Regionals in AAA for the first time ever. We've had 20 win seasons in four of the five years that I've been with the Falcons. I have been extremely blessed to know these fine young men and been a part of an awesome coaching staff. The locker room was a sure tear-jerker, and it showed that men can shed some tears and still be men. Again, Congrats to everyone that is left!!!! I know whoever makes it out of the area will represent us well. GOD Bless!!!!!!!

    • And can you tell me who those two quarterbacks were, and every kid that was put into college from Bearden is a Bearden kid? It’s kind of why they graduated from Bearden.   and I would definitely not consider ETSU “waste”…
    • Most of this is complete gibberish. But the one part I could decipher is putting kids in college. This coaching staff hasn’t put a single Bearden kid in college. They completed wasted one of the best WRs in East TN and have ruined two talented QBs. All because they’re in over their heads.
    • Well, I’d hope the new coaching staff thinks they are all that because they can always walk around the school, anytime they want, thinking that, especially for what they’ve done for the student athletes and the players, putting more kids in college in his first season than the old coaching staff did in numerous years combined, but we will just sweep over that because I know you don’t like facts. But trust me, nobody wanted Mr. Big britches, made the star player switch to quarterback, which is ultimately the reason he ended up transferring to play the position. He loved, but unfortunately, had to be at another school because Mr. Big Britches doesn’t like when a teenager knows more than him, but can’t expect much coming from a guy who used all class throwing pencils up into the ceiling and making fun of football kids who were failing class right to their face, and in front of numerous students, even projecting on the board most of the time.
    • After that first paragraph, I can see why you’re a TA and not a teacher. Have you made the move from South Knoxville to Bearden yet?    Maybe he left because he is an actual teacher and coach, and didn’t want to be associated with a group of foul mouthed middle school coaches who like to pretend they’re big time.
    • Yeah and the coach is gone. Whole bizarre situation here. We played them a couple of times at MTSU last few years. She was a player for sure.
