Preseason 5-A All-State Team

I'm not 100% on this, but the only available quarterbacks for LaVergne are Matt Stout, Michael Crocker, Ryan Williams, and maybe Luke Hayes (not sure what he played freshman year on JV). I'd like to see Ryan Williams take some snaps.

 

edit: I've also heard rumors of Coach Grooms' son playing QB.

Scratch Hayes....Gardner, Williams, Stout, and Crocker are battling.

 

 

 

and yes Grooms son does play QB and will be a top freshman next year. Along with Bryson from Smyrna.

Yeah, I like Pettigrew a lot and think he could be all-state this year. Anyone have any thoughts on who would be the best 5A kicker? I know Ravenwood's got a capable kicker...but don't know if he's all-state material.

Lopez hasn't been the same since he kicked the winner against Franklin the 2005 playoffs.

John Lopez for Ravenwood had a great year in 2005. In 2006, he was off on the kicks beyond the twenty yard line but he was excellent in within the twenty yard line and the PAT's. How Lopez will be kicking in 2007 will be interesting and too early to know due to current soccer season play. John has the leg if can get his accuracy down for the 25-35 yard line kicks. He could be all-state if his accuracy improves within this range.

Here I go again picking an eagle from Independence...they do have some good players this year. But, I would go with Jeff Veres from IHS. He has a strong leg made a couple from 45+ yards last season.

I think Veres has the potential but he really stopped focusing on kicking last year to concentrate more on receiver. If he gets the chance to kick more, I think he'll be a solid kicker but I like the kid from Waverly...Corbin Jones, I believe?
