Page scored 1 run in the bottom of the 2nd as Logan Adams walked, stole 2nd, advanced to 3rd on an infield error on the throw to 2nd, and scored on a passed ball.

Lewis Co. tied the score at 1 all in the top of the 3rd as Kane Crowell singled, stole 2nd, and scored on a single by Nick King.

Page added 3 runs in the bottom of the 4th as Jeff Hughes walked and his CR David Seeman stole 2nd, 3rd, and Home. Logan Adams walked stole both 2nd and 3rd and Jordan Rion walked and Pinch Runner Travis Day stole 2nd. Both Adams and Day scored on a single by Tyler While to put Page up 4-1.

Page added an insurance run in the bottom of the 6th as Kory Hammock singled, advanced on a throwing error on a pick-off play, stole 3rd, and scored on a sac. fly by Jeff Hughes to make the score 5-1 Page.

Lewis Co. threatened to score in both the 5th and 6th innings, but a throw from LF Matt Blankenship in the 5th got the runner as he tried to score on a single and in the 6th a runner tried to score on a passed ball, but Jeff Hughes made the tag and also struck out a better and caught a pop fly on the pitcher's mound to end the game as Page won 5-1

Both teams will play in the district tournament play-in games on Thurs, May 3 as Lewis Co. travels to Loretto and Page will host Spring Hill.

The reason Page did not play back-to-back games with Lewis Co. involved a function being held at Lewis Co. on Tuesday. It appears that sometimes school administrators do not check baseball schedules when other events are scheduled. I don't think that Page gained any unfair advantage, baseball'smygame, if that's what you're implying.

As I have talked with several parents of other teams, they all say Lewis Co. is a better team than their record indicates. You are correct, LCHSpanthers4419, there were three plays on Lewis Co. runners at the plate that were very close - two involved runners trying to score on passed balls and one where the runner tried to score from 2nd on a single. It appeared from my vantage point that the correct calls were made - it probably appeared different from the opposite side of the field. Jeff Hughes signed with Austin Peay as a pitcher. Good luck to Lewis Co. against Loretto on Thursday. I know that the parents from both Marshall Co. and Giles Co. said that they are glad they don't have to play in the play-in games because all the teams are pretty tough on any given day.

2 of the 3 plays were very close the one in the 7th was definately out and the other one trying to score on the pass ball was close but the one on the runner trying to score from second was safe the catcher missed the tag by at least six inches to a foot. lewis has had error problems all year. we have at least one bad inning a game. we have out hit almost every team we have played this year. good luck page against SH.
