Josh Holt pitched a good game, giving up only 5 hits. Lipscomb made 2 errors (not catching throws at runners on base) but neither made any difference in the game as neither runner scored. Both of Marshall's runs were earned. Give Marshall County's pitcher credit, he's good and pitched a very good game. Of course, we knew that from last year.

 

From a Lipscomb viewpoint, most of us felt this would be our toughest game this week with Lintz pitching. We're all kicking ourselves for moving the game to the college field (330 down the lines & 400 ft to center) because the last out to deep center would have been a 3 run homer at the high school field.

 

Oh well, good luck to Marshall County as their kids played well.

Marshall Co. at Giles Co. in Pulaski at Sam Davis Field at 5 PM on Wed., May 16.

Is the Sectional not Friday of this week??

Yes, the sectional is Friday with the Region 5-AA winners hosting the Region 6-AA runners-up and the Region 6-AA winners hosting the Region 5-AA runners-up. I would say the region winners would have a definite advantage because of the travel involved.
