YOUNG PLAYERS IN "AAA"

As this season is heating up...and in a few weeks will come to a quick end, who are some younger players to look for in the season(s) ahead: Juniors, Soph's, Fresh (Pitchers, Hitters...Players)?

Powell "Torri Jones" great hitter is a great 1st or 3rd baseman (Junior)

Powell "Brittany Craft" great hitter and catcher (Sophmore)

Halls "Brittani Hunley" great hitter and an awesome defensive player (Junior)

Halls "Lindsay Bridges" great pitcher gonna make some noise next yr (Junior)

I realize a lot can happen in a few years, but do any of these girls want to play college ball...or do they have the ability to play college softball on some level ? Who are some of the other players in East TN? Do you know of any in Middle TN or West TN?

 

It would be great if this thread had a lot of legitimate names entered and we could all watch their progress in the year(s) to come.

Rossview starts 7 Freshman and Sophomores, they had a great year, look for them in the future.

Dickson County has alot of good freshman player, both of these teams may be better next year than they were this year.

Halls Chelsea Stansbury -(Soph) great hitter if she can stay healthy she will be a huge threat

Halls Staci D'Apice -(Junior) good slapper with speed

Powell Cassidy Skeen (junior) good speed and quick bat

These girls definately want to go on and play college ball they are the ones to watch!

Riverdale has five sophomore starters, one freshman starter and one junior starter.

Blackman's starting nine this year went like this:

 

Seniors one

Juniors four

Sophomores three (one starter out because of injury)

Freshmen one

 

They have a great freshmen class this fall. Look for good things to come.

Lawrence County ladycats lineup went like this.

 

Seniors- 3(with 1 all district player)

Juniors- 2

Sophomores-4(with 2 all district player's)

Freshman-1(depending on who pitched)

 

They have a good group of incoming freshman as well.

Franklin started 6 Freshmen this past season.

Here is the list so far. KEEP IN MIND...we need names so we can keep up with them in the future.

 

Knox. Halls Brittani Hunley Jr.

Knox. Halls Lindsay Bridges Jr.

Knox. Powell Torri Jones Jr.

Knox. Powell Brittany Craft Soph.

Franklin Courtney Shelton Fresh.

 

There were responses from Rossview, Lawrence County, Blackman and Riverdale which all seemed to be loaded with Jr.'s, Soph's and Freshmen...but did not list the names associated with the players.

 

If possible provide those names of those up and coming players and we will add them to the list.

 

After a while...this will be a very impressive list of Tennessee Softball representation.

Juniors: Outfielders, Brittney Travis, Stephanie Stahr, Tajaida Jackson and catcher Courtney Cahoon

 

Sophomores: Short stop (injured) Ashley Buchanan, pitcher Natalie Papini, second base Lauren Dorsett, outfielder/replacement short stop, Breanna Zeis

 

Freshman: third base, Amanda Hunley

 

These are the starters.

 

 

Additional players are: sophomores, Courtney Anderson, Courtney Hensel, Alex North, Chelsea Fedun, Cassandra Griffin

 

Freshmen: Cara Dill, Tasha Miller, Sam Damron, Daryien Wright

Shelbyville's shortstop this year was just a freshman. She hit one out in Tullahoma against Jones in regular season and hit another out in their district tournament game against Coffee Co. In the Coffee Co. game she was 3 for 3 against Meeks and then hit one that easily cleared the center field fence against Swann in the 7th inning to tie up the game. She also played solid defense at short. Her last name is Lamb.
